Review: Elegant, Portable Bluetooth Speakers

I had the opportunity to try a version of the MiniS Magnetic Speakers ($99) that Growtek successfully launched on Kickstarter. These are beautiful, compact well-designed Bluetooth speakers that would be right at home in an Apple store.

The Bluetooth speakers feature a white design with black fabric circle grills and silver metallic magnets on the rear. Those magnets allow for attaching the speaker to a file cabinet, metal desk, or fridge. Beyond the magnet, Growtek also offer accessories like a bicycle handlebar attachment, armband, and more.

I liked the beautiful design and that you can use them as a pair or separately. If you picked one up on Kickstarter, for half of the $99 list price, that was a steal, but even at list price, it's pretty reasonable.

  • Beautiful design
  • Use as a pair or separately
  • Magnetic connection
  • Adaptors for bike handlebars, etc.
  • Reasonably priced
  • Clever dual-microUSB charger mechanism
  • Surprisingly loud

  • Best price was available as a Kickstarter project
  • No Alexa or microphone functionality
