Review: 10K Portable Wireless Charger for Home & On the Go

I've been using chargers from myCharge for several years. The company always come up with something novel, and the UnPlugged 10K ($69.99) myCharge sent me is no exception. It looks like the original iPod, all white with soft rounded edges and a gentle slope that makes it have a smaller surface area on the bottom than on the top. Since it's a Qi-based wireless charger, there is a circular charging pad that is reminiscent of the iPod click wheel.

Of course, the UnPlugged 10K doesn't play music; it's a power bank with 10,000 mAh of power and has two USB-A ports in addition to the Qi wireless charging pad. There are five LEDs to indicate the amount of battery left, which is nice, as most power banks have 4 only LEDs. However, some of myCharge's other power banks actually have a digital readout showing the percentage of power. The power bank itself is recharged using microUSB. I would have preferred USB-C, so it might charge faster and could also be used to charge USB-C devices.

Pros

  • 10,000 mAh of power
  • 10 watts of power for fast wireless charging
  • Charges two USB-A devices and one Qi device
  • Soft rubbery grip
  • Five LED indicators for power
  • Modern white design with rounded edges

Cons

  • Uses microUSB to charge the device instead of USB-C

Final Verdict

The Unplugged 10K from myCharge is an elegant wireless charger that blends in well with Apple gear.
