Looking for an Elegant Apple Watch Band? Check Out This Double Tour by Arrow & Board

Now that Apple has shown us what’s to come with watchOS 3, I’m more excited than ever to own an Apple Watch. Soon our apps will loader faster, a dock will replace glances, and Minnie mouse joins the watch faces. But no Apple Watch is complete without a band to compliment it. I’ve tried a few different bands and generally struggled to find one that’s just right. That’s when I discovered Arrow & Board’s Double Tour Strap ($110) with its handmade leather band in whiskey brown.

I’ve long wanted to try a double tour wristband for Apple Watch. The whiskey brown for 38mm is the first I’ve received. Arrow and Board handmake all of its accessories in Austin, Texas, which happens to be my hometown. The company has two tanneries it sources leather from and is proud of its high-quality and slow vegetable tanning process. Your watch band is made to order, so it comes stiff and ready to break-in with your loving wear and tear.

I received the double tour in whiskey browns with silver hardware. I have a rose gold Apple Watch, which was the only hardware color Arrow and Board doesn’t have available for the watch bands. However, the silver looks quite nice and doesn’t clash with the rose gold at all. The color is beautiful and perfectly classic. The stitching of the band is well-done and thickly wrapped, so I’m confident in its longevity.

I think if I were given a do-over, I would opt to get the medium size meant for wrists 160mm to 185mm. For most people, it’s probably not bothersome, but I prefer extra roominess around my wrist. The small band is intended for a wrist size of 145mm to 165mm. I’m a curvy woman but I don’t have particularly large wrists, so that’s something to be aware of when choosing your size.

Pros:

  • High quality vegetable tanned leather

  • Great color, strong stitches, solid hardware

  • If you’re going to buy a single band to work with any occasion or outfit, you can’t go wrong with something this classic.

Cons:

  • Unless you have small wrists, go for the medium size.

Final Verdict:

This double tour strap by Arrow & Board is one I can see myself getting a lot of wonderful use out of over the years, especially as the leather softens with wear and goes from new to well-loved. If you’re looking for a classic double tour watch band that is built to last and made of high-quality goods—look no further.
