How to Share Wi-Fi Password on iPhone or iPad

Important Note: For this to work, make sure you have completed the following steps:

  • All devices involved must be updated to the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS.
  • Wi-Fi is turned on.
  • Bluetooth is turned on.
  • All parties are signed into iCloud with their Apple ID.
  • All parties' email addresses connected to their iCloud accounts are saved in all parties' Contacts.
  • All parties' devices are nearby, within Bluetooth and Wi-Fi range.

Once you've confirmed that you've completed the above, you can share your Wi-Fi password with your friends:

  1. The recipient will initiate the exchange by opening the Settings app and tapping Wi-Fi.

  2. They will then tap the appropriate Network.

  3. Tap the Password field.
