Every time you take a photo on your iPhone, it gets geotagged with the location where you took the photo. If the geotag is incorrect or you don't want your photos to have location data, you can edit or delete locations from photos on an iPhone or iPad.

How to Edit or Remove Geotag Information on iPhone & iPad

This tip works on any device running iOS 16 or later/iPadOS 16 or later.

It can be handy and fun to see your photos laid out on a map, but you might not want your location tied to every photo you take, or sometimes they can be tagged in strange locations. Now, here's how to edit geotagged photos on iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the Photos app.

  2. Open the photo you want to edit, then tap the info icon.

  3. Tap Adjust under the map.

  4. Enter the correct address in the search field, tap an option from Map Locations to select, or tap No Location to delete the geotag.
