Best iPhone and Apple Watch Docks and Lightning Cables from Native Union

Best iPhone and Apple Watch Docks and Lightning Cables from Native Union

At the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, I was able to check out a wide variety of items from Native Union. The company specializes in accessories that always add some flair in terms of materials and design. Native Union's latest cables and docks are reasonably priced, starting at $24.99, so good design doesn't have to cost more.

Native Union's docks for the Apple Watch ($59.99) or iPhone ($49.99) look deceptively like a solid brick, but they have finishing touches that make a difference. The iPhone dock uses your own Lightning cable, but adds a backrest made of aircraft-grade aluminum. The dock itself has nice heft thanks to its cast metal and has finishing touches like soft silicone. It can also accommodate an iPad mini.

Native Union's Apple Watch dock is similar in appearance and also works with the official Apple Watch charging cable. It can be placed vertically or horizontally, so you can take advantage of the Nightstand Mode. It looks like a museum pedestal base for an Apple Watch.

Native Union Lightning Cables

Native Union's cables are braided in fabric and sport protection at the tips, something the official Apple cables do not offer.  The company even incorporates a leather strap with its Belt Cable ($24.99). I was also impressed by the JUMP Cable ($49.99), which is a compact battery pack with integrated cable. While 800mAh isn't a huge amount, this is a tiny battery pack and it also serves as a USB charging cable. This means you only need to bring the JUMP Cable with you instead of a battery pack and a separate cable.
