Best iPad Deals: Best Buy Clears Stock Ahead of Apple Announcement

Best iPad Deals on Soon-to-be Updated Devices

Apple users know the best time to buy an Apple product is either immediately when it's released or during the time before or after the replacement product is released. If you buy it as soon as it's announced, you will pay full price, but you will get the maximum time out of the latest product before it becomes obsolete. But if you wait until the next generation version is introduced, the previous model can often be had at substantial discounts.

Best Buy appears to be getting ahead of the curve, with $100 off on the iPad Pro, this week only, starting at $699. Technically, the iPad Pro isn't expected to be updated, but the iPad Air 2 is expected to be replaced by a similar sized iPad Pro 8.9-inch model during Apple's March 21 event. The device would have many of the features of the larger iPad Pro, such as compatibility with the Apple Pencil, the Smart Connector port for use with a Smart Keyboard, and stereo speakers. This will likely steal some sales from the larger model and Best Buy seems to be clearing inventory in anticipation.

BestBuy iPad Pro

It's possible that Apple could lower the price of the iPad Pro, but it's doubtful it would do so by more than $100. If you need one now, and don't think the smaller iPad Pro would be as desirable, this is a good opportunity. There are even open box models for as low as $623.
