Awesome Indiegogo and Kickstarter Projects to Check Out

It’s no secret I love a good Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign. If you’re an avid reader of iPhone Life, you’ve likely seen my previous roundups of top tech projects you can fund via Kickstarter or Indiegogo. I truly feel that browsing tech on those websites gives you an inside look at where trends are leading and what people want to buy. Plus, even if a campaign has already been completely funded, there are perks you can claim when you pre-order or contribute that will allow you to be one of the first to get the product and at a huge discount.

popSlate 2

I must admit, this is not a product I expected would do so incredibly well. Yet, the campaign has far exceeded its goal. PopSlate is the screen for the back of your phone. The biggest benefit is the display of low energy e-ink that’s always on. You can use it to get notifications, check the weather, read books without a bright backlight, and much more. After watching the company’s promo video, I officially want one.

Mighty - Streaming Music without Your iPhone

Ah, yes! This is amazing. Surely, we can all relate to how frustrating it is to workout with a bulky iPhone. As much as we love our devices, working out is one place we don’t need it - except for our music. This is one huge reason I look forward to a stand-alone Apple Watch. Well, here comes Mighty. Sure, you could use an iPod shuffle, but we know how ridiculous syncing with iTunes is. Mighty uses an app, Spotify, and Bluetooth to store your playlists on the Mighty device for easy listening while you workout.

MoodBox - Emotionally Intelligent Speaker

This wireless speaker detects changes in your voice and, therefore, your emotions, allowing it to customize the music and ambient lighting to the mood you’re in. Come home from work after getting a promotion? Tell the speak about your day and it’ll respond with music and lighting to match. The speaker is wireless, hands-free, and voice controlled with 360 degree, omni-directional sound. It can also wake you up in the morning and let you know how the weather will be.

Immersit - Awesome Motion & Vibration Device Under Your Sofa

This is exactly what I mean when I talk about seeing leading edge consumer tech on Kickstarter. The mainstream market is just getting used to the growing virtual reality trend; meanwhile, folks in Paris want to immerse you in movies and games now. Imagine putting on your VR headset and riding a rollercoaster on your couch as it moves and vibrates. There are shows in Vegas you can pay good money to see with total immersion, just imagine having it in your house whenever you want.
