SPB Announces New Online Game Service

SPB has been making great mobile software for years. Their Mobile Shell product probably kept many a die-hard Windows Mobile user from ditching completely when the iPhone came out. They have some great iPhone apps (SPB TV, and SPB Wallet...two of my favs), but they haven't struck me as prolific game producers (see my Quads review here). That didn't stop them, however,  from coming up with a free online game service called SPB Online games!

Looks like they have only 4 multiplayer games available at this time, they have a large community of users already tied into those games, and I'm sure they have more games planned. You can read the full release below, but looks like you can chat with players, play board games like checkers, reversi, etc. I didn't see mention of social network integration (twitter, facebook, etc.), but maybe they will add these features in the future...

October 28th, 2010 - SPB Software, a leading mobile software developer announces the launch of SPB Online Games on iPhone. With more than 100 thousands of registered players on the network and approximately 2 million game sets played SPB Online Games became very popular among Windows Mobile users. Now iPhone owners have an opportunity to get in touch with each other through joining the community of SPB Online Games players.
