a-Jays 4 Voice Optimized Ear Phones

There's always a pleasure in reviewing a quality product. The a-Jays ear Phone set is a winner in craftsmanship and sound quality.

The most difficult part was figuring out how to open the packaging. It comes in an oval plastic sleeve that seems to be tightly sealed top and bottom with no windows, doors or latches visible. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I finally got out my pliers and broke off the top. After that the innards slid out easily, and I was in business.

It is an attractive job of packaging though. Inside are replacement ear buds in three different sizes and the actual ear buds with a 3.5 mm stereo speaker/microphone jack on one end. There is a small manual to get you started in several languages.

The right side of the flat cord contains a three button control panel not much bigger than the cable width. The top button increases the volume; the lover button reduces the volume. The middle button activates the phone and microphone.

Note that the flat cable design eliminates tangling, which I appreciate. Untangling cables is such a nuisance.

This set is meant to be used only with iPhone, iPod, and iPad according to notices all over the package. However, when I plugged it into my Android phone, the sound was noticeably better than it was on my iPod. Curious. I also was able to complete a phone call most satisfactorily to both parties. So, that makes them more universal, and I am happy to be able to use them in devices other than IOS. It's curious though that on the Jay website there is a little Android guy waiting to greet you. Oh well.
