ID America’s New Touchtone Portable Wireless Speaker

As far as portable Bluetooth speakers are concerned, I would say that the Touchtone ($79.95) is in the mid range. It measures 5 x 3 2.25 inches and weighs 13.5 ounces. You can use it anywhere and play anything on it including videos, YouTube, and your favorite tunes. It also doubles as a speaker phone. If you have it connected to your phone, it will stop the music playback and broadcast your call. When you are done with the call, the music will resume. So it’s a great hands-free device as well.

I found the fidelity to be quite pleasing and satisfactory. It is equipped with powerful dual 4-Watt drivers that deliver a deep bass and clear highs. It will turn your iPhone, iPad, or iPod into a mini Carnegie Hall—a big improvement on the normal tinny sound of the small speakers on your portable devices. But it will also work with any Smartphone, tablet, laptop, or MP3 player. While it is Bluetooth equipped for wireless connectivity, it will also connect with any device that accepts a 3.5 mm jack cable.

The controls are conveniently located on the top for play, volume, forwards, backwards, and mode so you can quickly switch between audio and phone and between auxiliary input and Bluetooth. It also features a built-in microphone for greater hands-free telephone conversations.

On the back side of the unit are all the input ports and a power switch. It has a micro USB plug for charging.

The rechargeable lithium Ion battery delivers about four hours of playback time depending on volume. It will maintain Bluetooth connectivity up to a distance of 33 feet. I found it readily connected to a variety of Bluetooth devices, which is not always the case, and I’m was glad to have this work so seamlessly. It operates on Bluetooth A2DP V3.0.

In the box, you get a nice suede carrying pouch with draw string, the Touchtone speaker, a Micro USB charging cable, and a 3.5 mm auxiliary input cable.

It comes in a variety of colors: black white, gray, blue, mint, red, green, orange, and pink. So there is apt to be a color to please almost anyone.

The Touchtone is a good choice for a portable speaker that you can take with you and use in your garden, office, on camping or boating trips. It will fill a room with sound and make your environment more enjoyable. I have no reservations in recommending this mighty little sound blaster.
