What makes Smart Talk special is that it is solar powered thus eliminating the unsightly and cumbersome power cord of other hands free devices. It comes with a clear plastic case with two suction cups that attach to the windshield, window, or dashboard.

To get things going or for times when there is no sunlight, it also comes with a cigarette lighter adapter with charging cable. Just don't place the unit over the car's airbag ejector or serious harm could ensue.

It takes about 9 hours of sunlight charging for a full charge the first time. After that, normal exposure to the sun should be enough to top off the battery in most environments. You can speed up or supplement the process with the cable and adapter provided.

The next step is to pair Smart Talk with your Smartphone via Bluetooth. You can connect multiple devices using the Bluetooth pairing process. The unit will detect when you get in the car and connect to your phone as long as Bluetooth is active. The unit goes on standby to converse battery when you get out of the car.

To answer the phone when it rings, simply tap the multifunction button on Smart Talk unit. When it's safe to do so, you may dial a number on your phone. To redial the last number called, tap the multifunction button twice.

Alternatively, you can dial a number hands free by pushing the multifunction button that will turn on your phone's voice command. Then it's just a matter of issuing a voice command as per your phone's system requirements.

If an incoming call comes in while you're talking, push the multifunction button twice to toggle between calls. To refuse the incoming call, hold down the multifunction button about three seconds and the call will go to voicemail.

To mute a call, push the mode button once on the right side of the unit. Push it again to unmute it.

If you want to switch the call to your handset, press and hold the + and - key simultaneously. You may also use the + and - keys to adjust speaker volume.

When the blue led light is flashing every 3 seconds it means the unit is on standby and waiting for a call. When the blue light flashes every 6 seconds it means that you are making a call or receiving a call or talking.

When the red light is flashing, it means that the battery is low and you should recharge it via solar light or the adapter cable.

When the red and blue lights blink alternately it means that it is ready to pair by Bluetooth.

The red light will glow constantly when the unit is charging. When it goes off, it is fully charged.
