The headphones use the standard 3.5 mm jack. As I stated before, the remote section and headphones are made of metal. The remote buttons and the attached shirt clip are not. Because of the metal, they are a little weighty but you do not notice it for long. I used these headphones for music with our 4thGen iPod Nano. They worked fine, as the sounds and music came out very well. I did not have any issues with the sound when playing music. I also used these with my iPad with the Whistle VOIP app. They worked just as well. These headphones are iChat and Skype compatible according to the online specs.

There were only two things I disliked, and these are probably based on a more personal level.

1-In my area, it’s still cold here. Using metal headphones at a certain point transfers the chill to your ear. That was a little uncomfortable. My wife had tried these out also and she had told me the same thing (She also liked the sound quality).

2-I like the idea of the sport earphone adaptor. I was looking forward to using them, as I thought it would help keep these in my ear better while I was doing yard work. I could not get these to work for me. They just kept popping off my ear before I did anything.

I like using headphones that are all in one because I do not have to change them if I want to use VOIP, or use the microphone function in a particular app. While there was a couple dislikes, the general experience was fine. If you are thinking out using these, make sure you check out their site. They do list compatibility with devices and functions.
