iPad news: over 100,000 apps, possible sharing of data plans with the iPhone

There are now over 100,000 apps for the iPad, including both those that are iPad-only and those Universal apps for the iPhone that are also tailored for the iPad. You can read more on MacStories. In addition, And All Things D is reporting that the welcome news that the major carriers are considering offering a single data plan that would be shared among your iOS devices. Which I would certainly welcome. I'm paying for a data plan for my iPhone but don't use it that much, preferring to use my iPad. Ideally I wouldn't also have to pay for data for my iPad, or pay for tethering. Let's hope this sharing of a data plan happens.
