March 9 Apple Announcement: Native Apps for Apple Watch

"It's not just with you, it's on you." That's how Tim Cook explains Apple's new Apple Watch. It's everything we hoped it to be, and more!

With the Apple Watch, there is a group of native functions and apps that help you become even more of a health, e-mail, or iMessages fanatic. You can change watch faces and customize your home screen. You can add the date, world clock, stopwatch, and meeting reminders. With the new "Glances" feature, Apple allows you to check things very quickly. Just swipe up for weather, calendar, music and heart rate.

With Digital Touch, Apple introduces interactive notifications you can send to your friends. Send a sketch to a friend, or just tap your watch to get your friend's attention. You can also send your heart rate to a friend (awwww). The health and fitness companion built into the watch also reminds you if you've been sitting too long and send you a report of how you did, fitness wise, that week.

In addition to keeping time and getting your notifications, there is a large group of Apple's native apps you can use with your watch, including Remote, Camera, Photos, Passbook, Music, ApplePay, and Map. You can also talk to Siri—setting reminders, checking the weather, asking about stocks—just like you can with your iPhone. You can also use PassBook to get through security at the airport.

The coolest native feature is by far the futuresque one of taking your calls from your phone when your watch is attached to your phone by BlueTooth or when both devices are connected to Wi-fi.

To answer texts, you can send pre-programmed messages or dictate one. No, you don't have to type on a tiny keyboard.
