Passover Haggadah App: Take Charge of Your Seder!

Passover is quickly approaching — beginning the evening of March 25 — and if you'd like to take charge and customize your Seder, the ritual feast, you have a great new option if you own an iPad or iPad mini. Passover Haggadah ($6.99) from Ribui is an immensely customizable app that lets you create a virtual Haggadah with exactly the prayers and commentary you want.

Users can choose from options like Ashkenazy or Sephardic, modern or traditional, and even different age ranges. Services can last for as little as a half hour to more than an hour.

I've always found it ironic that a meal meant to symbolize the haste in which our ancestors fled Egypt takes all day to prepare and so long to consume! But at least you can choose how long, or short, your Seder will be with the Passover Haggadah app! In fact, the fastest Seder I've ever attended was in Israel!

There are beautiful illustrations throughout and the app actually has audio included so you don't have to worry if you don't know all the prayers, or you want to chant along! It's a really cool concept and demonstrates the power of the iPad!

I would like to see an update that makes it a universal app, so audience members could follow along on iPhones and iPod touch devices. And it would be nice to be able to print the custom Haggadah. But until then, Passover Haggadah is a great app for the leader of the ceremony.
