I wouldn't what to be an iPhone case company. Given Apple's secrecy, they have to design and deliver new cases in rapid fashion. Fortunately, Case-Mate has been able to revamp their extensive assortment of iPhone cases to accommodate the new design of the iPhone 5.
There's a lot of talk about Apple's proprietary Lightning cable for the new iPhone 5, but there are millions of existing iPhone, iPads, and iPod touch devices that still use the 30 pin connector. In fact, now that the iPhone 4 can be purchased for under $100, there will be even more sold.

Whenever Apple introduces a new device, with a new form factor, it's a struggle for case makers to retool their manufacturing line and deliver products in a timely manner. Apple's notorious secrecy doesn't help, and the fact that early adopters, like myself, don't want to wait a long time compounds the issue.

It's time to ask more of your case. Sure, a case should protect your iPhone or iPad, but what if it could do more? What if it was made of a glow in the dark material so you could find it at night? What if it had an actual custom QR Code built in so someone could get in touch with you to return it, even if the battery ran out or the device was locked? And what if it could be used as a way to share your contact info similar to the Bump app?
