Hey iPad, Meet The Newton
A long, long time ago, a man named Steve Jobs created a company named Apple Computers. Apple eventually fired Steve. Apple then created The Newton. Then Steve took over Apple again. Steve killed the Newton. Fast forward in time, now Steve creates, iPad.

The Achille's Heel of the Android OS
When Apple created its “App Store” for the iPhone, it was a revolution that literally changed the Smartphone world overnight. Suddenly the competition found itself scrambling to make its own version of the App Store, create SDK’s and get programmers onboard to begin making applications for their own devices.
This creation created billions in new revenue for software makers and catapulted the iPhone into being the largest “must have” device on the planet. Almost overnight the perception of Smartphones changed into becoming something more of a laptop replacement than a phone.

What Google's "Nexus One" Means For Us
The Last several months have seen an avalanche of new Smart Phones with brand new operating systems, incredibly sophisticated hardware crammed into ever shrinking form factors with wildly changing pricing schemes and carriers vying to be the first to have an exclusive on it.
The latest much hyped device is the "Nexus One" from Google which is scheduled to be launched tomorrow. This new Smart Phone has all of the press and Blogging world commenting how it may (or may not) be the next, "iPhone Killer" that the industry has been lusting for for the last three years.

Is Your MMS Working Early? Some Say It Is
News is spreading that some iPhone owners are having sucess with using MMS before the planned September 25th launch date.
The ability to send and receive multimedia attachments via text messaging has been a long desired function of iPhone users. iPhone users were delighted when Apple released its new OS 3.0 for iPhone in June with MMS support. That joy was quickly faded when AT&T restricted the use of that function for fear of service quality issues with so many users sending data over their network.
AT&T promised that the function would be available in the Fall and appears to be making good on that promise when they announced the September release date.

True MMS to grace the iPhone September 25th
Talk about being fashionably late to the party. As promised for the fall, AT&T has made it official that its iPhone users will be able to finally use the MMS feature of the new 3.0 OS this September 25th.
AT&T had left advanced features such as MMS and tethering off of the list of can-do's when Apple announced it's 3.0 OS mainly due to the company's network not being able to handle the surge in data transfers.
Before you get too excited though, know that you will need to download a software update to your iPhone 3GS and 3G before you can use MMS, and iPhone 2G users are out of luck completely as those original devices will not get MMS support at all.

True Push GMail Arrives on iPhone
Push GMail notifications have arrived for the iPhone. While not a true Apple application like we might expect by now, a new App Store application named GPush fills the bill for GMail addicts.
For a mere $.99, you can install GPush and receive notifications when new mail arrives to your GMail account. Of course, if Apple does implement true push notifications in the near future, this app will be short lived. However, for those of you who have been waiting and really, really need to know when email arrives as it arrives, GPush is a simple and affordable solution.

David (Palm) and Goliath (Apple): Goliath Wins!
Palm's strategy for mimicking some of Apple's iPhone features has been a boon to the heralded Pre, which just launched about a month ago. Capacitive touch screen, pinch zooming, and similar specs have made the Pre a serious competitor to the iPhone in many respects. So much so, that I was expecting Apple to sue Palm before the Pre's launch to block them from selling it over Apple's patents.

iPhone 3GS Overheating Issue Resolution
I have some news that should resolve the overheating issue that has been plauging a percentage of iPhone 3GS owners since its release.
I personally have not experienced this issue, however I have a very reliable source who claims that they have solved the issue thanks to some internal knowledge of a known issue during production. It apparently has do do with a corrupt software image when the 3.0 OS was flashed onto the devices during production.

iPhone 3.0 Update: Just Hours Away Now
The highly anticipated iPhone 3.0 update is just a few hours away according to sources. The expected times are 10 AM Pacific/1 PM Eastern time and will be available via iTunes.
The update is free for all iPhone users. All iPod Touch users will be charged an upgrade fee of $9.99. A worthy update to the platform, the 3.0 update will contain a host of new features and fixes and is the centerpiece to the new iPhone 3G S being released this Friday.
