San Francisco, California - Hello Vino has released a new smartphone app to help shoppers with wine selections and gift-giving during the holidays.
Hello Vino 2.2.3, the free mobile app, recommends the perfect bottle of wine based on holiday meals, special occasions, or personal taste preferences. Serving as a personal wine assistant, shoppers need only install the Hello Vino app and answer a few simple questions to receive specific wine brand recommendations available at local retail stores.
The latest release of the Hello Vino app utilizes real-time image recognition technology to assist wine shoppers by taking a photo of the wine label. The app then delivers specialized content including flavor descriptions, ratings, food pairings and video tasting notes provided by the individual wineries. Hello Vino app users are able to save wines within the app and submit personal ratings for future reference.
"Our mission is to break down the overwhelming selection of wine available to shoppers," remarks Rick Breslin, Founder of Hello Vino. "While most wine-related mobile apps focus on the collector or enthusiast, Hello Vino was developed for the majority of wine consumers seeking assistance in retail stores."
The technology behind the image recognition feature in the app was developed by IQ Engines. Due to the complexity of wine labels, Hello Vino collaborated with IQ Engines to identify data parameters specific to wine. User feedback is also collected by the app to further enhance the software over time.
