Nobody LLC released App Quiz this week, a game for iOS that will test your knowledge of various apps in a fun and entertaining way. Not only is it fun to play, but also a great tool for discovering new apps with a totally different approach.
App Quiz will test people’s knowledge of apps in three fun game modes: Name that App, Find that App and Survival. In Name that App the user will see an app icon and will need to select the corresponding app name out of four possible answers. There are six levels. Each level requires a certain streak to advance. In Find that App 42 icons will appear and the user will need to find one specific icon. Again, there are six levels. Each level requires a streak of ten to advance. Finally, Survival offers the same gameplay as Name that App, but without levels. The user simply tries to achieve the highest streak possible. Do you have what it takes to earn the “App Store God” Achievement?
Every time the user gets an app right, he has the option to view that app on the app store and download it without ever leaving App Quiz, thanks to the new “In-App Content Purchase” feature in iOS 6.
If the user should not know the answer or cannot find the icon, a “hint” may be used. Depending on what game mode is being played, hints will either eliminate two wrong answers, leaving the user with two answers to chose from or they will eliminate half of the displayed app icons, providing a better chance of finding the right icon. Users start out with three hints and can earn two additional hints for each level they unlock. In addition, hints may be purchased via In-App Purchase.
