We all love the iPhone’s pinch-capable browsing and slick gesture-based navigation. It’s clean animated experience is a wonder to behold, and not uncommon to it’s big brother, the iMac.

Sun Java Store to make Apple's look like a "rounding error"?

image

Recently reported in an article by eWeek, Java's creator, James Gosling claims that the coming Sun Java Store will make the Apple App Store look like a "rounding error". Tough talk considering the overwhelming success of Apple's excellent software download and purchasing center.

Give iPhone or Touch the Power of E-mail Groups

image

When I’m using my PC at work, I’m able to quickly open Outlook and call up an e-mail group, for instance to send out a tech-support bulletin to our field sites, or maybe report a bug to our development team. At home, I use mostly Gmail, and also have a few helpful contact groups configured (like for our bloggers), but I have yet to find a way to sync the grouping to my iPod touch.

Grabbing the new iPod Update!

image

Well, thanks to Steve Green, instead of reviewing some software right now, I'm waiting for the new 3.0 upgrade to complete on my iPod touch. The download is 257.8MB so if you don't have a broadband connection, it might take a while. I simply synced my ipod, and in the Summary tab it indicated that version 3.0 was available. Click the Update button, and it should run without much interaction (beyond the usual iTunes verifications, of course).

WorldMate Live now on iPhone

image

Another fabulous WinMo application is now available for the iPhone. WorldMate Live, a travel service and utility that allows you to monitor flights, check weather, and plan and view online iteneraries through your phone! The basic app is free, and I downloaded it to my iPod Touch just to check it out (pretty stunted compared to the full version). It features weather, flight search, and a currency converter.

Game Review of Peggle for iPhone and touch

image

There are few games that can display an eye-rolling status message of “busting rad moves” during the loadup phase of the game and survive to tell about it, but Peggle might be able to get away with it. If one’s tongue stays firmly in one’s cheek while they play, that is. The graphics are cheerily cartoonish, and the gameplay is engaging and fun to match.
