The Eagle has Landed!

image

Well, I did it. I took advantage of the iPad and went digital finally for my daily newspaper. I did not do it sooner as I had a subcription I had paid for. In my mind this is saving landfill/trees (I do recyle though) and also saving me some cash. I was paying $180 a year for it. Now I am paying $39.00 for it, which also includes the hard copy Sunday paper which is delivered to me.

Our Local newspaper is called The Berkshire Eagle. I am constantly finding errors in their writing and grammar and sometimes their stories that continue in another section disappear.

Apple Gear Group Buying (OrderBorder)

image

Here is some news from Sena that you may find helpful and also save some cash on. If you are a Sena customer, you probably also received an offer in your email as well.

Their parent company, Oten Inc., today launched a new group-buying website focused on only Apple related products, the site is: www.orderborder.com

From what I have read, it also has a unique points earning system as well. I can’t see where there is a cost or any risk to this program.

Review: Ten One Design Fling Joystick for iPad

image

If you like playing games, especially first person shooters like me, then I think the Fling is one of those must have accessories. The Fling by Ten One Design is a Joystick for your iPad (both versions). The installation is as simple as two suction cups. I used it over my existing screen protector and it worked fine.

Review: Innopocket Transformer Case for iPad

image

This is an interesting case by Innopocket which fits the original iPad. It’s called The Transformer. This case is a full front, side and back protector which is made of clear polycarbonate. I like it because it allows you to show off and see the iPad design in full, and still keep it protected.

When you receive the case, it is protected with a plastic sheet on it. Just peel it off, slip the iPad in, and you are ready to go.

This case is also designed for both right and handed people.

Are you a Contract Killer?

image

Here is a free game that I thought I would share with you. Well, its free to an extent. In this game, you are basically a hired hitman. It's a universal app. I'm playing it on my iPad. If you have ever played Mafia wars on Facebook, then this is a similar concept. It's a first person shooter which is cool. The part that I similar to Mafia Wars is that you have different levels you go through, different targets to take care of, as well as a store where you can buy guns, ammo, energy, etc. Some of the stuff you can buy with the points you win. The other stuff are through in app purchases. There is more action but as far as I am concerned, the general concept is like Mafia Wars.

Review: Mission Workshop Rambler Backpack

image

Mission Workshop is a company in San Francisco that designs and makes messenger bags and backpacks (and apparel too). All of their products are proudly made in America. They sent me over a Rambler backpack to try out and this thing is a beast (a good beast). I have a Swiss gear backpack that I have used for years.

Review: URBANEARS Plattan Headphones

image

I just finished trying out another set of headphones. The Plattan is a medium sized headphone from URBANEARS. This stylish headset comes packaged in a cardboard box which is accompanied by two cable extensions. These extensions allow compatibility with many devices.

There are a lot of features designed into this unit.

The set folds down for portability.
