Dual Releases XPS150-Bluetooth GPS Receiver

image

Dual recently released a Bluetooth GPS receiver for iOS devices called the XGPS150. I have to admit that it looks kind of neat. I sent their media contacts a request to test drive that puppy, so we will see if I get a response.

If you recall from a post a while back though, I was placed on the list for their original  iPod Touch GPS Receiver.

Review: Speck Candyshell and SeeThru iPad Cases

image

The Speck Candyshell and SeeThru cases are not new, but they are favorites for many. I wanted to see why. This review is kind of a two for one, as I thought these cases were very similar to each other, even though they had their own differences.

Review: SGP Stylus Pen Kuel H10 Series

image

SGP offers a stylus called the Kuel H10 Series. This is designed for the capacitive touch screen. The features listed below from their site give a lot of details on this product already, so I’m not going to just repeat them.

If you have not heard of Kioky before, they are a new screen protector company that has created a revolutionary way to install screenguards. Their product not only includes the screenshield itself, but also their own applicator, which promises to make installation misalignment and stress free. You can check out their site at www.kioky.com

Kioky does need your help though.

iPad Picture Frame Tip

Here is a neat and easy setting change that gives your regular picture frame slideshow a bit of a makeover.

Select Settings, Picture Frame, and then Transition.

It's most likely set at "Dissolve." Change that to "Origami."

The next time you select the picture frame slideshow from the lock screen, you will instantly see the Origami effect, which looks pretty neat.

Do You Recycle?

image

I believe in recycling and I try to recycle and/or reuse wherever and whenever possible. It's an action and responsibility to help the planet that I have control over, and to be honest, it's not all that difficult to do. Sometimes there are items that I know need to be recycled but I have no idea where to bring them to. I found a Free app that I am trying out that helps. It's called My Recycle List. It's designed for the smaller screen but I am using it on my iPad.

Basically, you choose your item that you want to recycle and it will tell you where you can bring it that is near you.

Review: iChair iPad Case & Stand

image

Just last month, a company called iChair launched a case series they call the iChair. The iChair is a multipurpose slider case which also has some extras. They created one for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The folks at iChair sent me the iPad case to evaluate. The first thing that came to my mind when I opened the package was an Incase Slider hooked up with a silicone case. But it’s actually much more than that which I will present below.

I found a video they created in their media kit of an unboxing.

Powis iCase: New Leather edition

image

Back at the end of November, I reviewed the Powis iCase. You can find that review at the link below. Recently, they launched a new leather design. I am not going to re-review the case, as the design and functionality itself did not change. But I did want to mention two things about it.

The leather design comes in two grades. Powis offers a Premium Leather version for $79.99 and a Lightly Textured one for $59.99. The one in my pictures is Tan Pebble. The leather is tight to the cover and looks nice.

Overdrive

Not too long ago, Jim Karpen blogged about the Overdrive Media Console. You can find that at the below link.

http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/5/overdrive-media-console-free-app-lets-you-check-out-ebooks-and-audio-books-your-library

I downloaded it myself and have been exploring some of my libraries' offerings when I have time here and there. I'm still trying to figure out general navigation and am finding it a little difficult. I will say though that I have not dedicated a large amount of time to it which is part of my problem.

In my local newspaper today, there was an article from the Associated Press. I thought this would also be of interest.
