AT&T vs. iPhone Users: The Next Ice Age

image

AT&T is firmly planted as the number two wireless carrier in the United States and there's little reason to believe that will be changing anytime soon. Apple's relationship with AT&T to be the exclusive carrier for the iPhone has been hugely profitable for both companies as well,  however there is a growing rift between Apple, iPhone users and the wireless giant.

Review: Joyland Bounce

image

There's something to be said for developers that stray from the norm, and that something is "thank you".  I've recently had the pleasure of playing Joyland Bounce from Gamesmith Studios, and despite the casual, no-die nature of the game - something unusual for a platform style game - I've been quite captivated.  Some will find the lack of enemies and ultimate destruction a turn off, but its nice every once in a while to play something with a purpose that's also relaxing.  Joyland Bounce fits the bill quite nice

iPhone 3GS Turns Palm’s ‘Pre’ To ‘Post’?

image

Today, Apple Computer has announced its successor to the iPhone 3G. The new iPhone will receive an “S” moniker for “Speed” at the end to differentiate it from the 3G model. Many of the new features rumored to be coming did in fact make the cut for the new iPhone such as a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus and a much anticipated video capture mode, a built in compass, voice command capability, and claimed improvements for performance and battery life.

iPhone 3.0 software coming June 17, new iPhone 3G S June 19

image

Today's keynote at the major developers' conference was filled with news, including the announcement that the new iPhone 3.0 software will be out on June 17. You can read more on Yahoo Tech.  Apple senior vice president of iPhone software Scott Forstall used his keynote presentation to demo some of the 100 new features of iPhone 3.0. That includes copy and paste, landscape mode in all key applications, peer-to-peer Bluetooth-based multiplayer gaming, push notification, and more. Also announced was a new iPhone — the iPhone 3G S, which will be available June 19. You can read a nice overview on iLounge and a longer description in the press release. The "S" in the name stands for "speed."

Gaming Strategy Guide: Sentinel by Origin8

image

Despite the low price ($2), probably one of the best Tower Defense games for the iPhone is Sentinel by Origin8. The title is highly popular; no wonder a sequel has just been announced, slated for June. I highly recommend it - apart from the repetitive in-game music, it's excellent.

How to Transfer Contact Info on Your iPhone or iPod Touch

image

How many times have you wanted to send someone contact information from your iPhone or iPod Touch, but you couldn’t do it? Instead, you had to manually type the information into an Email to send it or tell them the information over the phone. Big time waster!

Not awake early enough to catch the Today Show? No problem.

image

Do you wake up early enough to catch the Today Show? I don't. We're computer nerds who can easily stay awake until 3:a if we're not careful & dawn? It's a 4-letter word in this house. Thanks to the Today Show app, I can finally see what I've been missing during those early hours.

Cute Math is Not Only Cute, It's Effective!

I love all these new educational apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Many of us have been in situations where we wish we had something for our children to do while waiting. These educational apps serve just that purpose.

Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with.  Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below.  Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer.  For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).

In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."

Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.

What to know how to create your own app?  "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
