Keep Your Life In Order

ToDo (by Appigo, $4.99) has become one of my most used apps for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, , I have a tendency to forget things. Second, my todo's are synced to my iPad, iPod Touch and desktop. ToDo uses a web based task organizer called ToodleDo to complete this magic.

iCircuit Review

image

Readers of my reviews may recall my enthusiastic review of Electronic Toolbox HD.  While that product provided a good deal of depth on basic electronic parts and calculations, it lacked a simulator to assemble such parts into a functional design.  iCircuit fulfills this need exceptionally well.

Plantronics Discovery 975 vs. Jawbone Icon (The Thinker)

image

I made a visit to my local Apple Store today and purchased both the Plantronics Discovery 975 and the Jawbone Icon (The Thinker). My goal was to find an earpiece that would help me not only take phone calls while I work and listen to my music, but also increase the sound volume for me. (I have some hearing loss.)

image

I'm a ListPro user from way back in the day (see my comprehensive Windows Mobile review on our sister blog here). Even posted up some of my own custom lists to the free exchange years ago (an MS VB Script Repository). You want to stay organized and be able to find stuff, ListPro is a good way to do it.

Write Apps for iOS without knowing CoCo using Corona! Its out of Beta today!

image

We have all heard about Adobe getting back to work on putting post to iOS back into CS5.  Since many of the people who were working on that left, it will take some time for them to get the wheels rolling again.  Cant wait?  You dont have to!  You can start building some cool app including physics based 2D games now with Corona which is coming out of Beta today!  Here is the catch though.. You will write using Lua instead of Actionscipt.  So why Lua, I asked Walter Luh, the Co-founder/CTO, Ansca Mobile.

iLium’s ListPro! It’s Free

image

Many of you have either used ILium’s ListPro on another software platform or are at least aware of it. Today, iLium released ListPro for the iPod Touch and iPhone. It does require iOS 4.0 or later. But the cool part is that it’s free. I downloaded it earlier today and replaced my existing list software with this. I have never used ListPro before but I am a faithful eWallet customer (for years), and I know and like the quality that goes into that.

There's an App for that: Ultimate Frisbee

As the app store grows, apps are being developed to fill all areas of our life. From astronomy to hunting there's now an app for that. Ultimate is the fastest growing sport in America. For those of you who have never heard of ultimate, here is a brief description from the USA ultimate website.

Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with.  Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below.  Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer.  For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).

In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."

Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.

What to know how to create your own app?  "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
