HeadFinder iPhone App Review

image

The Head Finder app is a task management or schedule management app to help you organize all the different things you have to do.  This app has a very simple user interface and it seems they designed all the most common functions to be done with as little tapping and typing as possible which is a real time saver.  I’ve used several time management apps in the past and it always seemed like I was wasting more time entering my events and tasks into the app than I saved by being more organized.  With Head Finder you can have a new task entered in less than thirty seconds with their quick three tap process to create a reminder.

Two hidden features in iOS 5

image

According to an article on the Macworld website, iOS 5 has a couple features that are available but not enabled: 1) a panoramic photo feature and 2) an alternate way of invoking spelling suggestions. Interestingly, you can enable these features without jailbreaking your device. But you do have to tweak it a bit — so this is probably only of interest to the techies among you. Also, the features are pretty fritzy, which is possibly why they weren't enabled.

Otterbox Defender iPhone 4S: Review

image

The most important decision after purchasing an iPhone, can be deciding which case to purchase for the best protection. I have had the privilege of using many different types of cases.  If I had to choose only one case from the many I have used it would be the OtterBox Defender. The OtterBox Defender does add a little extra weight to the device. It's not very noticeable after you begin using the case. It does make the iphone a little bit thicker. I know many people are very proud of how thin and sleek the iPhone 4S is. However, I think protection has to be top priority.

Apple begins selling unlocked iPhone 4S

image

Yesterday Apple began selling an unlocked version of the iPhone 4S. That means that you can use it with any carrier, and you don't need to sign a contract. But it will cost you: prices start at $649 for the 16GB phone. You can also buy an unlocked iPhone 4 for $549 and a 3GS for $375. However, the unlocked phones will only work with GSM carriers, such as AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S.

The Battle of the Cases: Defender versus Ballistic

There are two cases that protect your iPhone from just about anything: The Ballistic Hard Core and the Otterbox Defender.  So which to buy?

Ballistic Lifestyle iPhone 4 Case: Review

image

The Ballistic Lifestyle iPhone 4 case offers great protection for the iPhone. The simple, sleek design of the case allows the user to interchange raised bumper-type corners for added protection. The Ballistic case comes with two different sizes of bumpers for the corners. It also has different colors for the bumpers. Ballistic has added the security in the most important part of any case, the corners. Regardless, how the phone is dropped most any time it will usually land on a corner. The large raised corners provide the

iOS 5 update available over the air: fixes battery issue, maybe

image

The good news is that an update is available that is said to fix the battery issue on the iPhone 4S. In addition, this is the first update available "over the air." No need to connect your iOS device to your computer. You can download it via Wi-Fi, though apparently not 3G or Edge. The not so good news is that according to PCWorld, some iPhone 4S users are still complaining about rapid battery drain.

Wall of Sound - cool free way to browse your collection!

image

Can't count how many music player alternatives I have tried over the years (have to take off my shoes for sure). Suffice to say, I can't really say any jumped out and made me go, "THAT'S IT!"--like Charlie Brown's epiphany when Lucy tells him he has the fear of everything. Wall of Sound didn't really make me do that, except maybe a little bit. Then it had a couple of glitches, so I calmed down. Still, it is pretty well done for a freebie, and provides a unique way to find and play tunes...

Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with.  Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below.  Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer.  For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).

In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."

Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.

What to know how to create your own app?  "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
