Choice is the Ultimate Luxury and Piel Frama Offers Plenty

image

People want to have a personal connection with their gadgets. A unique case is one way to further personalize this relationship. But you don't have to settle for different colored plastic cases that offer little in the way of protection or luxury. I have tried cases from Piel Frama before and always came away impressed. Their latest case for my iPhone 5s is a prime example of luxury and choice.

Abducted Episode 1 in the App Store!

image

Due to other reviews and the mad holiday and CES email avalanche, I totally missed the press release on this new Sunside game (recently also "greenlit" on Steam Greenlight) called Abducted, which is a space horror RPG that uses the Radiance game engine. The first episode (of several to come) was actually released for iOS back on December 19, 2013, and the game in the US app store has been discounted to $2.99 for a limited time.

High-Tech Aluminum, Silicon, Glass, Complemented with Wood from Evutec

image

I love high technology and modern components, but there's something special about the juxtaposition of those materials with natural components. These cases from Evutec ($39.95) meet that specification, and then some.

SMS Sync by 50 On Ear Wireless Headphones: Put Your Money Where Your Ears Are

image

Several years ago, I was at the Consumer Electronics Show, where a certain rapper stood side by side with the head of a certain audio cable company to announce a certain headphone business. Since then, countless headphones have been launched, often with the endorsement of celebrity rappers and musicians. Headphones have become more expensive than the phones and MP3 players they plug into. And recently, that original rapper took his headphone business and cut ties with that audio company.

What I Played This Week: Angry Birds Go and Quantic Pinball!

image

There's a buzz over Angry Birds Go (free), and 'freemium" titles in general to discuss in this edition of WIPTW. I was not aware that computer bits were being subjected to such draconian work conditions on our devices that they needed to rest; but Angry Birds Go introduces the "energy" concept to the Rovio game chest: a union break for overworked player characters, I suppose. Otherwise, ABG has plenty of good graphics, and is mostly goofy and fun like a cart race should be. Also played this week is the jam-packed action pinball slam of the season called Quantic Pinball ($2.99). If you like pinball, you will gorge yourself on this version.

iPhone Reviews | iPhone Life Magazine

We have several iPhone reviews.  Articles like, iPhone Goes 3G,is one of many that gives you a more in depth look at Apple's products. Here are several iPhone reviews on past and current models.

"On July 11th, 2008, Apple and AT&T stores started selling the iPhone 3G, and over one million consumers bought one in the first three days, making this the hottest smart phone launch ever.  The 3G brings speed, assisted GPS, and a new low price to Apple's smart phone platform. And while the hardware has definitely been improved, it's the OS 2.0 and software suite that is truly revolutionary."

In iPhone 3G S and OS 3.0, we take a first look at the new 3G S. Resting in your hand, it looks pretty much like the 3G, but in this case, looks are deceiving. The iPhone 3G S sports a faster processor, better battery life, a 3 megapixel camera, enhanced 3D graphics, and a variety of other improvements.  Best of all, it's claimed to be twice as fast as the 3G.

We also reviewed the new OS 3.0 and software suite.  Apple added some nice features, including Cut & Paste capability, enhanced A2DPBluetooth that supports stereo headsets, an upgrade of SMS to full Multi MediaServices, improved search feature, landscape keyboard in Mail and other apps, and additional enhancements to Calendar, Contacts, iPod, and Safari.  Apple also added a new native app to the application suite.  VoiceMemo lets you capture and edit short audio recordings and e-mail or SMS them toa friend.

iPhone reviews: Apple began selling an unlocked versionof the iPhone 4S (iPhone Life Article Here). That means that you can use it with any carrier, andyou don't need to sign a contract.  Unlocked phones are a big advantage for frequent travelers. GSM is the most common standard abroad, and the whole cell phone business model is typically much different in other countries. No contracts, no subsidized phones. You simply buy a SIM card and put it in your phone. You can even buy SIM cards at kiosks in airports and on the street.
