Oh My Nuts Game Review

image

Oh My Nuts is a game app which is similar in many ways to angry birds where you have to launch something across the screen attempting to hit an object.  In this game you are shooting a squirrel (out of the mouth of a pig) at a series of three stars with an acorn at the landing point.  For each level you need to shoot the squirrel at the correct angle to get all three stars and land in the proper place to collect the nut.

Bam! Jr. App Review

image

If you've been looking for a game that will keep the kids occupied; then Bam! Jr. is what you have been looking for.  This particular game is fast paced, practicing colors, and really stimulates the brain with optical illusions.  In other words, you have to be pretty quick to win this game.  So, what is the overall object?

iAlbums for iPhone

image

The new iAlbums app was designed to bring back the experience of buying more than just a song when you purchase music.  In the past when you purchased music it would typically come with the CD (or tape or record) along with a bunch of information about the song and the artist.  Since people began using programs such as iTunes to download their music they no longer got any of these extras.  They just get the song to play in their mp3 player.  While the music is the primary reason people like purchasing songs, it is much more enjoyable when they get the full experience.

Review: Twist N' Catch by Okugi Studio

image

For starters, this isn’t another Angry Birds or Bejeweled clone, so that’s a bonus.  Twist & Catch is actually a nifty little puzzle game with a bit of a… well, twist to it.  There are plenty of levels, and with a three diamond ranking system you probably won’t beat the game in an afternoon.  Be warned, though, that you will get hooked and quite possibly want to chuck your device at a wall sometimes.

Vikersund Ski Flying App Review

image

The Vikersund ski flying app is a simple game where you play as a skier who is attempting a ski jump.  You tap to begin skiing down the hill and at the right moment you tap the screen to jump.  The goal is to get as far as possible during your jump.  You can play either single player or against someone.  Single player you have to beat scores which are computer generated, of course for multi-player you are going against your friend.

Review: Diggin' Dogs by Chillingo

image

Personally I would find the task of trying to pick out games to publish quite daunting.  When you’re a developer it’s almost inevitable that you think your product is good (or you wouldn’t be making it) but as a publisher you have a whole different perspective on things.  I’m rather impressed with how consistently Chillingo picks out winners.  That’s not to say that every game they publish is gold because there have certainly been some I didn’t like, but the majority have proven to be quite fun.  As you’ve probably guessed by now, Diggin’ Dogs fits into that latter category.  The concepts are tried and true, but the movement mechanic is unique and the lack of a time limit actually gives you the chance to do something that many platformers don’t, which is the opportunity to explore.

Picture Hangman Review

image

Picture hangman is a new app available which is similar to traditional hangman but rather than guessing letters, you guess little pieces of the overall picture.  In picture hangman there is a picture in place of where the word would normally go.  For example, one puzzle solution would be a picture of a woman’s purse.  Now these pictures are similar to chalk drawings, not actual photographs.  At the bottom of the screen there are a bunch of pieces of pictures, also in chalk.  You need to attempt to figure out which of the small pictures at the bottom of the screen belong in the picture and which don’t.

image

The iPhone and iPad have been extremely popular for a number of things since they came out but one thing which has been surprising by many is how many great educational uses there is for them.  One type of education app which many people might never know about is those which are designed for very young children.  The music color app is designed to not only help little kids learn their colors but also get a great appreciation for music.  The app is set up with large panels of different colors for little kids to choose and interact with in a simple way.

iPhone Reviews | iPhone Life Magazine

We have several iPhone reviews.  Articles like, iPhone Goes 3G,is one of many that gives you a more in depth look at Apple's products. Here are several iPhone reviews on past and current models.

"On July 11th, 2008, Apple and AT&T stores started selling the iPhone 3G, and over one million consumers bought one in the first three days, making this the hottest smart phone launch ever.  The 3G brings speed, assisted GPS, and a new low price to Apple's smart phone platform. And while the hardware has definitely been improved, it's the OS 2.0 and software suite that is truly revolutionary."

In iPhone 3G S and OS 3.0, we take a first look at the new 3G S. Resting in your hand, it looks pretty much like the 3G, but in this case, looks are deceiving. The iPhone 3G S sports a faster processor, better battery life, a 3 megapixel camera, enhanced 3D graphics, and a variety of other improvements.  Best of all, it's claimed to be twice as fast as the 3G.

We also reviewed the new OS 3.0 and software suite.  Apple added some nice features, including Cut & Paste capability, enhanced A2DPBluetooth that supports stereo headsets, an upgrade of SMS to full Multi MediaServices, improved search feature, landscape keyboard in Mail and other apps, and additional enhancements to Calendar, Contacts, iPod, and Safari.  Apple also added a new native app to the application suite.  VoiceMemo lets you capture and edit short audio recordings and e-mail or SMS them toa friend.

iPhone reviews: Apple began selling an unlocked versionof the iPhone 4S (iPhone Life Article Here). That means that you can use it with any carrier, andyou don't need to sign a contract.  Unlocked phones are a big advantage for frequent travelers. GSM is the most common standard abroad, and the whole cell phone business model is typically much different in other countries. No contracts, no subsidized phones. You simply buy a SIM card and put it in your phone. You can even buy SIM cards at kiosks in airports and on the street.
