Greetings fellow iTravelers and iAdveturers! Welcome back to my special Summer Travel series, in which I take a look at great apps and awesome accessories that can make our summertime adventures more convenient and more enjoyable.
There's never a shortage of Apple-related headlines these days! Here's a brief look at a few stories that have caught my attention and which I wanted to share with all of you!
Don't let the water stop you!
Greetings my fellow travelers and adventures and welcome once again to my Summer Travel special series here at iPhone Life. In this installment I'd like to share with you one of my favorite apps for on the road and on the go adventures.
Max Power Adventures is another role-playing game, but with a humorous twist. Since there are so many different RPG's available, it only makes sense to develop a parody to mock them all. For those that are sincerely into gaming, you may get a kick out of this one.
The controls are pretty basic as well as the concept of the game. The developers take in great detail to explain every little thing including the rules and storyline. Yes, you will be saving a princess, but the superhero Max is more excited about the combat than his prize. After all, there doesn't seem to be much hiring of superheroes occurring during the depression.
Being a computer geek in the 80s, I spent much of my mid-childhood engulfed in the world of adventure games. Sure such things exist today (if you look beyond the fact that many publications call anything they don’t know what to classify as an adventure), but back then there were companies that were actually known and praised for such fare. Mystery Lighthouse pays homage to such games, and it actually does it quite well. This is a far cry from Digi-Chain’s previous effort, Dungeon of the Damned, and in my opinion a much better game.
Greetings fellow travelers and adventurers, and welcome to my special summer travel series! To go along with iPhone Life's upcoming special Summer Travel digital issue, I'll be doing a special summer column featuring some of the best gear, gadgets and apps that can help make your summer adventures even more convenient, enjoyable and memorable.
First up in the series, I'd like to introduce you to a relatively new product on the market: the Verbatim Mobile Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard.
With the exploding popularity of Facebook, Twitter, E-Mail and texting over the last ten years or so it has quickly become difficult to keep up on them all. If you are spending time sending out messages to your friends and family through all these different tools it can get quite repetitive and time consuming. The AmIOK app has solved that problem by allowing its users to make Facebook status updates, Twitter updates, and send e-mails and texts all at once.
Polaris Office is a pretty unique app of its kind. To sum it up, it allows Apple users with devices such as the iPad or iPhone to access and edit Microsoft Office documents. Of course, it's a lot more extensive than just that; but this is why it has become one of the most popular business apps to date. As for its cost, many people believe that the worth definitely meets its value.
This week, I review Ichi; advanced pong/puzzle game rising fast in app store popularity, and as about as simple as a game can get and still provide devilishly mind-twisting fun. Also, some important news: for those who have heard me ranting but not yet sampled the Galaxy on Fire 2 space adventure (SD version)--99 cents for a very limited time (expires June 15th, 2012) so do not tarry too overlong to snag it. In other iOS gaming news, Bank Job side-runner freebie has been released, and a new 3D racer called Bounty Racer coming this summer. I hope to review both in an upcoming WIPTW column, time permitting. Read on for the Ichi review and full game news releases...
Multi Audiobook Player has been rated as an unexpected great app in 2010. Because there are a variety of apps geared towards the concept of media, this particular one has surprised many critics. There are numerous features that are offered that can't be found with its competitors. And for those that enjoy listening to audiobooks, you'll appreciate the innovative idea behind it.
