DRACO is a 2D top-down scroller shooter game. The app starts off with a good animation about the back-story of the game. The graphics and the music fit well into the game. After the intro video, the player, for the first time, will enter his or her own name. After which the player picks their hardness, color of their dragon and after a brief introduction to the controls is shown, the user can start the game.
The rules are fairly simple - avoid the oncoming dragons/obstacles & their fire/shots. Tilt the device in in either direction to move your dragon (tilt iPhone to the right, the dragon moves to the right, etc.) and tap the screen to shoot.
This app gives you a quick and easy way to use your phone's GPS to check in on Facebook, and to find where your friends have checked in from recently as well. It will also provide you with some useful information such as where the nearest cafe or hotel is, and quite a bit more to. The app is pretty simple to use and seems to be pretty accurate as far as where it has you check in from. If you don't have many friends who check in from their GPS phones than there won't be much information on your map but it can still be fun and as more and more people get smart phones this will likely become even more useful.
SugarSync is a full-featured cloud backup and file syncing service (reviewed previously in our magazine by Doug Goldring here), but you can also create and edit documents on-line, play music from your synced collection, and transfer photos via iPad or other iOS device. There are clients for iOS, Android and several other mobile OS flavors, so you can sync from just about anywhere. I was specifically interested in the ability to write articles and save pictures and research to a consolidated folder I could later access on my computer. Currently, I use Evernote for the sometimes extensive article content I compile (mostly photo/text/weblink data), but it's somewhat aggravating to reformat everything for our blog editor later, so recently have taken to simply editing blog posts in raw HTML on our site (or in Notes), which is also a pain. SugarSync didn't bring my content together exactly the way I wanted, but it is a great file sync and backup product...

This week, I really had a blast with Snow Fight, but I was not happy about the game offering up a few appetite-whetting levels, and slapping you with an in-app purchase to continue (not a big fan of in-app purchases)... I put a crowbar in my iTunes wallet and plunked down the fat 99 pennies required to unlock the full 40+ levels remaining (yes, quite the iTunes Scrooge). The first zone of 6 or so levels is gratis, but doubtful anyone will begrudge the additional expense of unlocking the others. Simple fun is priceless after all, and the game does deliver that...
The app called “Free App Wall” is easily the best one of its type which I’ve tried so far. The point of this handy app is to find other apps which are not normally free but are for one reason or another. This is often because the other apps are new or being promoted or something of this nature but the bottom line is this is the best way to find great apps for free that I’ve seen.
I Won’t Fall is the heartwarming saga of a mother hen who will risk anything to save her baby chicks. In all honesty the game can sometimes get a bit depressing, especially when you get smacked again and again by the picture of a baby chick with a solitary tear running down its cheek if you fail a level. Have no fear, though, because love always prevails and when you finally conquer the treacherous surroundings and reach each baby chick you’ll feel warm and fuzzy all over. At least I think that’s the emotions from the game…

When initially signing on; a quick explanation of buttons is shown, but a little too quick to read. A suggestion to the developer would be to slow this down, but the option to access it again is located on the top right icon pictured with a question mark. But, the fact remains that it isn’t necessary; you can click on each one to understand their easy capabilities.
