I previously reviewed Battle Fleet from Capital j Media--a unique iOS naval strategy game--and so was stoked to check out their new game, Starbase Gunship, which just went live (you can grab it now for intro price of 99 cents)! The game requires you to play the 3-D space gunner lucky enough to be on duty just as waves of incoming ships, missiles, etc. careen towards your home station. I'll post up a full review later, but you can check out the trailer above to get the idea...
In an age when overstimulation and processed pop culture pervade every aspect of children’s lives, it can be difficult to use new learning technology without overwhelming little ones with commercial messages. Art ABC is a beautifully designed educational experience that takes the high road.
Many iOS users are also Mac users, like myself, so if you have a Mac, and an Apple wireless keyboard, and an Apple Magic Trackpad, pay attention! I have all of the above, but I found that I didn't use the trackpad that much. Rather than slide my hand off to the right, past my Magic Mouse, to the trackpad, and lose time, and risking Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, I prefer the design of Apple's laptops, with the trackpad just below the spacebar.
I am constantly amazed by the advancements in graphics and gaming in the iOS world, and Real Boxing is the latest example. From the colorized red, black, and white cinematic 'cut scenes' reminiscent of Frank Miller's Sin City, to the photorealistic gameplay, the experience is breathtaking.
Kingdom Rush is now FREE on the app store, so do not tarry, lest thou findeth a tariff awaiteth thee the morn! I'll drop the pathetic attempt at Old English, if thou whilst go grab thee some Kingdom Rush here, now!! See my review of this popular TD title. If you are a major KR fan already, you can also grab a free comic featuring the heroes in the game! If you are a certifiable KR nut, you can learn more on the coming full HD version of the game and vote to keep the saga going here at Steam Greenlight... Thou shalt heretofore be dubbed--ok, I'll stop now...
If you haven't already read my article on the potential dangers of our beloved radioactive iOS devices, please do. As with anything else that comes with inherent dangers, you would behoove yourself to know the possible risks associated with use and take appropriate precautions. The article I link to below has lots of useful infromation and valuable links on the topic of cell phone radiation levels and it's a must read for anyone who uses a cellular device, much less anyone (myself included) who finds themself carrying these devices around with them on or near their body most of the time.
Tap Start Up is a fun game which will require your fastest reflexes and time management skills to complete. As the manager of a new company you’ll have to guide your business through all the different challenges it will face in order to expand and grow to the point where you are a millionaire. Growing your business requires you to stay on top of a variety of different tasks from keeping the employees working to managing the office environment.
Apps that help organize your life are a dime a dozen, and while many are effective, it's hard to find one that brings together all the right features. Sooner does a good job of unifying time management needs into one handy interface, but you actually have to spend some of your precious time organizing activities, listing goals, and then setting some deadlines and reminders to achieve them. There are likely a hundred different ways (and apps) to achieve time management nirvana, but if you take the time to set it up, Sooner does it with singular aplomb!
We have several iPhone reviews. Articles like,iPhone Goes 3G,is one of many that gives you a more in depth look at Apple's products. Here are several iPhone reviews on past and current models.
"On July 11th, 2008, Apple and AT&T stores started selling the iPhone 3G, and over one million consumers bought one in the first three days, making this the hottest smart phone launch ever. The 3G brings speed, assisted GPS, and a new low price to Apple's smart phone platform. And while the hardware has definitely been improved, it's the OS 2.0 and software suite that is truly revolutionary."
IniPhone 3G S and OS 3.0, we take a first look at the new 3G S. Resting in your hand, it looks pretty much like the 3G, but in this case, looks are deceiving. The iPhone 3G S sports a faster processor, better battery life, a 3 megapixel camera, enhanced 3D graphics, and a variety of other improvements. Best of all, it's claimed to be twice as fast as the 3G.
We also reviewed the new OS 3.0 and software suite. Apple added some nice features, including Cut & Paste capability, enhanced A2DPBluetooth that supports stereo headsets, an upgrade of SMS to full Multi MediaServices, improved search feature, landscape keyboard in Mail and other apps, and additional enhancements to Calendar, Contacts, iPod, and Safari. Apple also added a new native app to the application suite. VoiceMemo lets you capture and edit short audio recordings and e-mail or SMS them toa friend.
iPhone reviews: Apple began selling an unlocked versionof the iPhone 4S (iPhone Life Article Here). That means that you can use it with any carrier, andyou don't need to sign a contract. Unlocked phones are a big advantage for frequent travelers. GSM is the most common standard abroad, and the whole cell phone business model is typically much different in other countries. No contracts, no subsidized phones. You simply buy a SIM card and put it in your phone. You can even buy SIM cards at kiosks in airports and on the street.
