I was a little skeptical of the Audyssey Audio Dock Air when I first saw it, but thanks to some changes, it's now a great deal. The first change is a $100 discount from the $400 list price. The second change is Apple's pending micro dock which will make traditional docking speakers somewhat obsolete. Finally, the third change is AirPlay integration in Macs and PCs, in the latest verion of iTunes, and Mountain Lion.
The Internet can be an amazing resource of learning, information and knowledge. Ok, and let’s be honest, of time-wasting cute cat videos and heart-wrenching crawling across the finish line of an Ironman YouTube epics and blogs. But, like life, not everything on the Internet is cool, safe or appropriate for kids. Some of it is actually dangerous and harmful to their safety and well-being. Since it’s nearly impossible to block kids from going online these days, what can you do to make sure that they are safe and you can monitor (hey, you are a parent) their activities (to a non-intrusive Moooooom or Daaadddd degree, of course) while they’re on the media phone.
Welcome to my weekly recap here at iPhone Life. Each week I take a look back at some of the top stories in the world of iOS that made headlines.
*Is Apple about to announce a new device, the rumored "iTV", on September 12th?
*Apple iPad "mini": Newest mockups look GREAT!
*Steve Jobs’ Palo Alto house burglarized. His iPad went to a clown.
*Updates: Asphalt 7 and Batman: The Dark Knight Rises both receive updates, and a phenomenal new game called Horn debuts.
I have been using Scosches’ new REALM On-Ear Headphones with tap LINE III (model # RH656md) for a few weeks. This model (along with a few others) came out last month and Scosche sent me a review sample to play with. This accessory is packaged and protected very well for shipment. With the headphones, you also receive a carry/protective pouch as well as an instruction booklet.
It amazes me how many budding engineers there were when I was growing up. All those skilled kids that could take a piece of paper, shape it into something resembling a plane, and actually manage to fly it! Personally, I wasn’t one of those kids. Thanks to Armor Games, however, I can be, at least on my iPod Touch. There have been other games like this on the App Store, but this is the first one I’ve really latched on to. I imagine it’s some combination of the quirky story, attainable and cool upgrades and the origami swans that give you bonus multipliers.
Gangster Granny allows you to play as a somewhat strange protagonist when compared with what we are used to from gun running apps. For once we see a grandmother with very few morals as we help her bust out of prison and go on a rampage to try and rob the biggest bank in the city. With gun toting madness bringing Grand Theft Auto into mind, this is sure to be a game you will become addicted to very quickly in the near future.
