Sooner Review - Manage your time with a thumb-swipe!

image

Apps that help organize your life are a dime a dozen, and while many are effective, it's hard to find one that brings together all the right features. Sooner does a good job of unifying time management needs into one handy interface, but you actually have to spend some of your precious time organizing activities, listing goals, and then setting some deadlines and reminders to achieve them. There are likely a hundred different ways (and apps) to achieve time management nirvana, but if you take the time to set it up, Sooner does it with singular aplomb!

Puxxles App Review

image

PuXXles is a new and interesting way to communicate with other people and play a game at the same time.  With this app you can create pictures, jokes, stories, music or just about anything else, and then encrypt it as a puzzle or riddle.  When you send the message the only way they can open it up and see or hear it is to solve the riddle or puzzle.  This adds a little bit of excitement and fun to a regular conversation.

Bring some Joy to your World, with cases from The Joy Factory

image

This is one for the ladies. Or for those of you with a special lady in your life. As long as she has an iPhone!

The Joy Factory makes some great accessories, so I was excited to see why they would come up with for the iPhone 5. Just like with restrooms, the ladies always get the better end of the deal. While men get a step above an outhouse, from what I've heard, ladies rooms have couches, perfume, etc. Ladies get some neat options for cellphone cases as well.

Cold Weather Gear: Don't let the chilly winds keep you from your iDevices!

image

Winter is finally making itself felt. When the chill winds blow it can pose a challenge to work with our touch sensitive device screens. Here’s a collection of useful and convenient alternatives for utilizing our iDevices at this time of year, when it can be too cold to have our hands and fingers exposed...

Magic Orbz for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

image

Magic Orbz is a game which was very popular on the Play Station 3 platform and has now been ported over to mobile devices.  To play the game you have to throw and bounce balls through the different levels to break all the blocks before you run out of lives.  The game seems simple at first, but as the levels get progressively more difficult you’ll find that it can become quite challenging.

Mikey makes for a better microphone on your iOS device

image

The iPhone and iPad do a lot of things well, but if you agree that the built-in microphone could use some improvement, you should check out the Mikey Digital add-on from Blue Microphones.

Blue is known for the very high quality microphones for Mac and other uses, so it's nice to see them bring their expertise to the iOS world.

What I played this week - Slenderman, and Ice Riders!

image

Slenderman: Unknown Chronicles is one of a few games or apps on iTunes related to the Slender horror genre. The legend is of a tall, slender man that appears in the background of old photographs that include small children. Evidence of kidnappings surround these events, and the Slenderman is purportedly able to stretch his arms and torso to extreme lengths to capture his quarry. The game is sort of like an iOS version of Blair Witch Project (if anyone remembers that)! Ice Riders, a decidedly upbeat, platform-like snowboard simulation combines custom course design with tricky game physics to create a unique, chilly and fun time-killer... iPhone Reviews | iPhone Life Magazine

We have several iPhone reviews.  Articles like, iPhone Goes 3G,is one of many that gives you a more in depth look at Apple's products. Here are several iPhone reviews on past and current models.

"On July 11th, 2008, Apple and AT&T stores started selling the iPhone 3G, and over one million consumers bought one in the first three days, making this the hottest smart phone launch ever.  The 3G brings speed, assisted GPS, and a new low price to Apple's smart phone platform. And while the hardware has definitely been improved, it's the OS 2.0 and software suite that is truly revolutionary."

In iPhone 3G S and OS 3.0, we take a first look at the new 3G S. Resting in your hand, it looks pretty much like the 3G, but in this case, looks are deceiving. The iPhone 3G S sports a faster processor, better battery life, a 3 megapixel camera, enhanced 3D graphics, and a variety of other improvements.  Best of all, it's claimed to be twice as fast as the 3G.

We also reviewed the new OS 3.0 and software suite.  Apple added some nice features, including Cut & Paste capability, enhanced A2DPBluetooth that supports stereo headsets, an upgrade of SMS to full Multi MediaServices, improved search feature, landscape keyboard in Mail and other apps, and additional enhancements to Calendar, Contacts, iPod, and Safari.  Apple also added a new native app to the application suite.  VoiceMemo lets you capture and edit short audio recordings and e-mail or SMS them toa friend.

iPhone reviews: Apple began selling an unlocked versionof the iPhone 4S (iPhone Life Article Here). That means that you can use it with any carrier, andyou don't need to sign a contract.  Unlocked phones are a big advantage for frequent travelers. GSM is the most common standard abroad, and the whole cell phone business model is typically much different in other countries. No contracts, no subsidized phones. You simply buy a SIM card and put it in your phone. You can even buy SIM cards at kiosks in airports and on the street.
