I had never even heard of Pachinko until Peggle arrived on the iPhone, and now it seems like there are several different variants of the game on the App Store, most of them trying to disguise the fact that they are actually a Pachinko variant. One of the latest such variants is Dog Pile, an interesting combination of Pachinko and Match 3, of all things. Interestingly enough, it is probably one of my favorite versions so far. Of course it doesn’t hurt that I’m a huge fan of match 3 games, and it’s also a bonus that the dogs are so cute!
I was just thinking of the dominance in the app store by the games where little birds play a major role. Of course best of them Angry Birds and Tiny wings, which are still on the top. When guys from Weeworld asked me to have a look at their recent work Cweeture Jump, I was into it immediately because of the interest in playing such funny bird ruling games.
Haven't done this in awhile, so maybe I should call this "What I played this quarter!". I had to post up on JetCar Stunts though, since it's the latest game I can't stop playing (it's not a new title--released in 2009). Crazy addictive time killer is what it should be called!. Featured in iTunes essential games, you can grab it here at $1.99. Expansion course packs also available. The concept is to race through 3D high-flying aerial stunt courses with your rocket powered jet car (who wouldn't want one of those)... More app news follows...
When I read the description of CJ Internet’s new AppStore addition, Samurai Girl, I honestly thought the game maker—despite its successes in the past—might be out of its league. A full-featured RPG for iOS isn’t something you stumble across every day. And Samurai Girl looked like it was trying to be a whole lot more.
Once again another puzzle games makes me to stun as I have started to play it! VideoPuzzle is such a game and something unique that I have ever seen before. I have never imagined a puzzle game like this as I can see a lot of games in the app store with same game play and minor changes. You people are excellent on choosing a paid application and I will tell you why VideoPuzzle needs your attention.
Games especially puzzles are something that makes me really involved in it when I came to say about iPhone apps. There may be some anecdotes behind some famous games and some may be inspired from them. Many games in the app store points the second, but some keeps their show better with interesting changes in the game play and design. Here, I am going to explore an interesting iPhone puzzle game Woozzle that comes under what I am saying a good puzzle game
After a false start on part one (I loaded it up one time and just watched a slight intro without actually playing the game), I couldn’t put it down the first time I actually tried to play. In fact, I liked it so much that I played it again before playing part two. Needless to say I was pretty stoked about venturing into the second installment of this psychological horror mystery, hoping the answers to all my questions would be revealed. Well, I’m still hoping… At least it was an enjoyable second leg of the journey.

Can't vouch for how realistic this is in comparison to assembling a real puzzle, but I like the concept, and never shy from giving indie devs a bit of press. Developed by a programmer from Barcelona, Puzzle Man (now spelled correctly) varies from easy 24 piece jobs up to 300+ challenges. If you are into puzzles (which I am admittedly not), check it out for just 99 cents here in the app store...
One thing I really like about the mobile scene is that it has helped me to appreciate genres that I never really got into on the PC. For instance, I’m pretty sure I’ve played as many FPS games on my PocketPC and iPhone as I have for as long as I’ve owned a PC (unless you count the myriad of mods I played when I was into Half-Life). Another genre that didn’t really catch my attention until the small screen was the Arkanoid style game. I’m not suggesting that I jump up and down with joy now every time a new one of these games is released, but I do find that when certain variations like Atomic Ball come along, they actually manage to hold my attention for a while. Of course it doesn’t hurt that aesthetically this is one of the coolest looking Arkanoid clones on the market either.
