I previously reviewed Battle Fleet from Capital j Media--a unique iOS naval strategy game--and so was stoked to check out their new game, Starbase Gunship, which just went live (you can grab it now for intro price of 99 cents)! The game requires you to play the 3-D space gunner lucky enough to be on duty just as waves of incoming ships, missiles, etc. careen towards your home station. I'll post up a full review later, but you can check out the trailer above to get the idea...
I am constantly amazed by the advancements in graphics and gaming in the iOS world, and Real Boxing is the latest example. From the colorized red, black, and white cinematic 'cut scenes' reminiscent of Frank Miller's Sin City, to the photorealistic gameplay, the experience is breathtaking.

Magic Orbz is a game which was very popular on the Play Station 3 platform and has now been ported over to mobile devices. To play the game you have to throw and bounce balls through the different levels to break all the blocks before you run out of lives. The game seems simple at first, but as the levels get progressively more difficult you’ll find that it can become quite challenging.
Slenderman: Unknown Chronicles is one of a few games or apps on iTunes related to the Slender horror genre. The legend is of a tall, slender man that appears in the background of old photographs that include small children. Evidence of kidnappings surround these events, and the Slenderman is purportedly able to stretch his arms and torso to extreme lengths to capture his quarry. The game is sort of like an iOS version of Blair Witch Project (if anyone remembers that)! Ice Riders, a decidedly upbeat, platform-like snowboard simulation combines custom course design with tricky game physics to create a unique, chilly and fun time-killer... When searching for the best iPhone games, you can get lost in companies propaganda. Articles likeTop Ten FavoriteiPhone Games, can help to alleviate the stress. The following snippets from articles can help you to decide what kind of game is better suited for you.
"Stinger Games' newly launchedStinger FoosballLeaguetakes a game that's already a step removed from reality into a truly virtual environment - topping as one of the best iPhone games. Foosball, of course, is the table version of football or soccer. With Stinger Foosball League, the field that was crammed into a table in a pub is now in your iOS device. The premise sounds okay, but the execution is way cooler than it sounds. That's because Stinger Foosball League is actually, well, cooler than actual foosball. First of all, the 3D graphics and game physics are right on, putting this game at the forefront of console-style graphics on iOS. Second of all, the view when playing real life foosball is… usually not that awesome. I'm sure there are people with foosball tables that are tricked out, but for most of us, they're usually a dingy affair. But Stinger Foosball League hasn't been sitting in your uncle's basement for the past forty years. Kick-ass flying cameras show off how much action there really is in a game known for being low-tech. And just to make it even more trippy, the ball leaves behind a golden light tail, kind of a comet-effect."
