In a perfect world, one case would meet all of my needs. Sometimes I want my iPhone clipped to my belt, and other times I want to carry my phone and perhaps a credit card, and often on trips and at trade shows, I want a built in extra battery. The ClickMate system from NUU
tries to be the solution.
Regular readers of my articles will know I am a big fan of Kickstarter and crowdfunding, and I do my best to find the coolest projects and share them with you. But I can't always find the best items, and once they have been funded, they fall off my radar. Fortunately, there is TinyLightbulbs.com
In what may be the final nail in the coffin for RIM and their BlackBerry product line, SoloMatrix has developed a compact, non-Bluetooth, non-battery powered keyboard that does its job and gets the heck out of the way when you don't need it. The Spike is a combination case and reversible keyboard. Surprisingly, starting at just $20, the Spike is priced similarly to traditional cases that don't have the added keyboard functionality.
If you have been following my articles in iPhone Life Magazine and my blogs here at iPhoneLife.com, you know I am somewhat of a rugged case afficianado, and that I am known for testing heavy-duty cases thoroughly and aggressively in the field so that I can report back to you in detail on my findings. There's never a shortage of Apple-related headlines these days! Here's a brief look at a few stories that have caught my attention and which I wanted to share with all of you!
Don't let the water stop you!
5 Stars out of 5! If you are looking for a great gift idea for dad this Father's Day, please let me tell you about the Mophie Juice Pack PRO!
If you are looking for a great protective case for your iPhone then Otterbox has got you covered! This company has been in the business of making cases that provide serious protection (for what is likely one of your more prized possessions) for years.
Here is a case that Hannibal would have lovingly embraced, and why not? You could potentially use it (with iPhone encased) as a small personal shield for say your sword hand, what with that steel latch fused to the bottom there. Ok, that might be a bit much, but it will protect your iPhone better than anything short of stuffing it into a bank vault. When out conquering Romans, you can't afford to have your iPhone get smashed on a rock, or crushed under a falling elephant, which will likely ruin your day! OtterBox has a serious Armor case coming for the serious conqueror (insert Police, Fire, Soldier, EMT, Construction worker, etc.)... All "proofs" apply (dust, drop, crush, water)--coming soon!
I dropped my iPhone the other day. Needless to say, I didn't like it. It seemed to happen in slow motion. Sure, iCloud would have a backup of most of my data but, as an app developer, even a day or two's loss of use of my iPhone would be difficult, and expensive.
