Accidents happen, and sadly they seem to happen to me more than the average person. This is why I invest in Apple Care. But amazingly, the last time I dropped my iPhone, I didn’t even need to make a trip to the Apple Store.
I've written about uNu before, as I've been using their battery cases for my older iPhone 4. Now that I have an iPhone 5s, I still need that extra juice throughout the day, especially when I'm traveling. Fortunately, they have a version for the Lightning-based iPhone 5, but their AERO model ($99.95) goes even further. In addition to providing extra power and letting you charge the case by microUSB, you can charge the case wirelessly!

Have you ever wanted to just plug in a nearly dead iPhone. Well now you can.
With PocketPlug from Prong, the iPhone's cases sports a pair of not-so-hidden prongs that simply fold out, ready to be inserted into a wall socket.
There are so many phone and tablet cases out there that you have to do something special to stand out, especially at CES. Nuevue thinks they've hit on something different with their cases that clean each time you insert or remove your device. This is possible thanks to the antimicrobial microfiber lining on both sides of the case's interior. A notch at the bottom makes it easy to push the phone out when needed.
Forget that BlackBerry is suing Typo Products, the company that makes the TYPO Keyboard. Forget that Ryan Seacrest is a backer of Typo Products. Forget that their initial production run has sold out. I picked up one of the keyboard cases at CES and was able to try it out.
My colleagues and I at iPhone Life have written about the OlloClip several times, and it's a great clip-on accessory that adds different lenses for your iPhone camera. The fatal flaw, however, has been that it requires a naked iPhone, and I like to keep my iPhone in a case.
It's easy to find high tech wonders at CES, but I have a particular affinity for items that are low tech or no tech... In other words, items that have no battery, no wires, and no chips but still manage to make our high tech lives better.
People always ask me what to get the person who has everything. My response? Something to hold it in! If you have tons of gadgets, as I do, you're always looking for the right bag, case, or container. Fortunately, CES was full of such gear.
Your iPhone is an elegant, beautifully designed piece of equipment. It deserves a case of equal elegance, and I finally found one. Actually, they have two models and they are available after their launch on Kickstarter, from Blacksmith Labs. Additionally, to celebrate their launch, for the rest of January, they are taking $20 off each holster during checkout with the coupon code:
Lifeproof and Otterbox joined forces last year to form what I would consider one of the most formidable business partnerships in the protective case industry. This year at CES the two companies shared booth space and oh, what a booth it was. They put on quite a show and had what was perhaps the largest and most extravagant booth of any case maker at CES, with lots of demos. Otterbox sponsored NASCAR truck racer, Germán Quiroga, was even on hand to promote the products. Read on for more details on the latest and greatest from these two industry-leading companies...
Plenty of Kickstarts here at CES, and Lunecase ($35.00) is one coming worthy of note. Not satisfied with designing merely yet another iPhone case, the Concepter team (also with a succesful LED add-on flash device called iBlazr) created the Lunecase. The circular open area around the Apple logo flashes green when you get a call, and the LED uses phone EM to power the diode—ultimate coolness! Now, you might think you do not need to be that, um, flashy, but You would be wrong, especially if you often put your phone on mute and miss calls. The Lunecase can alert you, and you therefore will not miss that call from the President (should it come.) Anyway, look for this product on Kickstarter soon (sign up for alerts at link above). Read on to see the $59 iBlazr if you been looking for an external flash.
