LifeCharge Battery Case with Wireless Charging Is a Powerful Case

image

I love my iPhone 6, but this iPhone 5 battery case from LifeCharge makes me miss my iPhone 5s. There are a lot of battery cases out there, and there's only so many ways to differentiate themselves, but LifeCharge found two ways that I appreciate. First, it recharges wirelessly, using the included charging pad. Just place the iPhone, in the LifeCharge case, on top of the slim, silver pad, and it starts charging. It's like magic! Since Apple is unlikely to adopt Qi or PowerMat's charging standards, this may be the closest we come to induction charging.

iPhone 6/6 Plus Case of the Week: The Otterbox Defender

image

It's that time of year again. Right after a new iPhone comes out there is the inevitable deluge of great cases to protect your new investment. This happens with every iPhone release, but perhaps never more markedly than with the introduction of the completely new form factors of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. If ever an iPhone needed a case it is these large and larger models, with their increased real estate, slick, rounded edges and extra weight. Rather than clump a bunch of individual cases together I'll be focusing on one great case each week over the course of the coming months. This week's featured case is Otterbox's Defender.

Catalyst Waterproof Case Has the Right Mix of Features, for iPhone 5 and 5s

The iPhone 5s is still for sale, and many iPhone 6 owners may be handing down their older iPhones to family members. That's what I did, and, since it's still worth $200 to $300, I want to make sure my daughter keeps it protected! That means a waterproof, rugged case. And because it's an iPhone 5s, I'd like to keep the Touch ID functionality.

iPhone 6/6 Plus Case of the Week: Griffin Survivor All-Terrain

ZAGG InvisibleShield Has Your Six!

image

Without the screen, what is the mighty iPhone 6? Well, it could be a trendy paperweight. You could use it for a game of inter-cubicle catch, or possibly to throw at an attacker. Let's face it, an iPhone 6 without that fabulous screen, is a piece of expensive junk. I know there are plenty of users with cracked or scratched screens who might refute this, but every one of them wishes they had either used protection or bought insurance. So, it surprises me when I see someone with a snazzy new iPhone in a case, sans the screen protector. Huh? For the price of an oil change, ZAGG's InvisibleShield screen protection has your, erm, iPhone screen's back, or something like that..

Hits and Misses in the iPhone Case Market

image

I don't envy the life of a case manufacturer. On the plus side, when Apple redesigns their gear, millions of customers have to upgrade their cases. But when the old iPhone looks just like the new iPhone, such as the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5s, there isn't much need to get a new case. But now that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are out, with dramatically new form factors, new cases are a must.

Alto Delivers High Fashion for Your New iPhone 6

image

Ah the dilemma of an early adopter... We get the latest gear, but when Apple introduces an entirely new form factor, as with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, we lose out on some of our favorite cases. So I was very happy to see a new package from Alto Collective ($35-$45). They make beautiful etched-wood cases, by hand, in Canada. I've tried other wooden cases, but while they look and feel great, they don't have the protection and precision that Alto does. Alto combines a custom wood back with a rubberized, textured border. This provides grip and protection and it should last better than other wooden cases.

iPhone 6/6 Plus Case of the Week: Pelican ProGear Voyager

The Best Rugged iPhone 6 Plus Case for Under $20.

image

I only ended up with the Unicorn Beetle PRO ($19.99) by happenstance. I needed a rugged case for my iPhone 6 Plus as soon as possible, since I didn't want to use it without a case, but while most case makers had plenty of cases for the iPhone 6 ready to ship at launch, few were ready with cases for the 6 Plus, and even fewer had cases ready for the 6 Plus that were rugged options. With good reason I felt I needed a heavy duty case for this large and heavy iPhone 6 Plus, so I took to Amazon and before long these rugged cases from a manufacturer I hadn't heard of began coming up in the search results, and their rugged cases seemed, at first glance at least, to be almost on par with Griffin's Survivor All-Terrain ($59.99) or Otterbox's Defender ($69.90), two industry-leading, rugged case brands. So I took a chance and placed my order, figuring it was only $20 in the event that I hated it. I can now say that not only was I immediately impressed by the overall design and build of this sturdy case, I've been using it for almost two weeks now, and I've already drop-tested this case with hard falls from approximately three-feet high. It's safe to say that the way this case performs and feels in the hand is definitely reminiscent of the Otterbox Defender or the Survivor All-Terrain.

Adventure Safely and in Style with These Rugged iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Cases

One of the many grand achievements that Apple has made with the new iPhone 6 series, is that even though they are larger than the 4-inch screened iPhones we've all become so used to, they are so lightweight and thin that they aren't a burden to take anywhere and everywhere. Of course, this doesn't mean they won't get cracked or dented if they are subjected to rough handling or mishaps. Nonetheless, I can guarantee that within a year, we'll have seen plenty of extreme videos and pictures captured on these new iDevices, and it's safe to say that much of the adventurous footage that will come from the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will come courtesy of devices encased in one of the following protective cases. Of course, not everyone who wants heavy-duty protection from their iPhone case intends to compete in the X-Games or to climb Everest. A lot of people just want a hardy case that can stand up to the inevitable abuse of a busy and active life. So this roundup is also for anyone who wants a rugged iPhone 6/6 Plus case that can take a beating but still manages to have a slim profile, and takes into consideration things like having good acoustics for calls, music, and videos, as well as easy access to all of the iPhone's buttons and ports.

iPhone Cases, iPad Covers, iPod Sleeves | iPhone Life Magazine

The market for iPhone cases is increasing exponentially with the release of the new iPhone 4S.  The companies that make the cases are always looking for more ways to capture their customers attention.  Whether practicality or style is more important, we review the products so that you don't have to.

Are you looking for a durable clip-on case for your new iPhone 4S? There are plenty of choices that exist already, thanks to the fact that the new iPhone's dimensions are the same as the original iPhone 4. One of the more recent cases to hit the market is Ballistic's Sport Rugged Universal Smartphone Pouch. How does it stack up to the competition? Read on to find out.

iPhone cases are getting to be like jewelry… there seems to be a different case for every occasion. If the occasion is rugged outdoor activity, the Ballistic offers a tough, scratch-resistant nylon vertical flip case with a thick clip that holds on snuggly to a belt or strap. While it is just slightly on the bulky side, the case is lined along the bottom and sides with a stitched ridge that will absorb the shock of a drop fairly well.

If the occasion is more flashy (Gaga Style)... There are a lot of case makers out there, but there's only one Lady Gaga.  And LuxMobile has licensed her images and designs for their line of cases.  No strangers to luxury licensing, LuxMobile also offers cases with Ed Hardy and other trendy designs.  More feminine-friendly cases are becoming popular, and the Lady Gaga collection presented several options.  There is the understated 'diamond pattern' Romance style, but true Gaga fans may want something more outlandish.  No 'meat' cases currently, but you never know.

Surc is a case and app combo that turns your iphone into a universal remote control. What makes this device stand out from the crowd is that the unit is sleek and adds little to the size or weight of the phone. Usually you have to add an attachment to the phone to convert it into a remote. Not with this one.  This remote goes above and beyond your basic remote. You can control multiple items in a room. On top of that, I was really impressed with the capabilities and customization that this unit allows. Add the buttons you want, move them around the screen, even use gestures to control your device. Shake the iPhone and you turn on or off your TV. Watch the video to see even more features.
