Forget Find my iPhone, and Find my Friends... With the WalletTrackr, Phone Halo's SelfStarter
(an open source competitor to Kickstarter) project, you can use your iPhone, or iPad, or iPod touch to find just about anything! Attach a fob to your keychain or insert a slim card in your wallet or purse and use their iOS app to find the object using a slick interface. The app will remember where the fob was when you were last in contact with it, and play a song when you become separated, and help you find it, much like Apple's Find my iPhone.
Plingi Juggle is a great arcade style game which will keep you entertained by challenging you to keep beating your high score, or that of your friends. In the game you control two plingi spiders which carry a net between them. A third spider is up in a fruit tree knocking berries down to you, and you are responsible for moving the two spiders on the ground under the fruit. As the fruit drops you need to have it hit your net where it will bounce off to the right and into your basket.
I have regaled the iPhoneLife readers with tales of Galaxy on Fire 2, which is my personal favorite Space shooter RPG on iPad (and frankly stunning on my mini), but looks like there is a relatively new space game in town also with some pretty sweet-looking space combat visuals! I'll be posting up a review soon, but you can check out the animated eye-candy in the embedded vid above. The title is Galactic Phantasy Prelude, is currently 99 cents and you can get it here. I've already checked out some of the online comments, noting that upgrades rely heavily on IAPs, which will turn me off, but I'll leave the jury out until I review it.
It has been many weeks since a WIPTW post up, due to work, and really Trigger Fist; because I can't stop playing it! I did manage to pull myself away long enough to check out two also very cool indie games that are featured this week, both of which played nicely on the new iPad mini (review of that coming as well). When I started this review, I was listening to hurricane Sandy pound the crap out of my house while watching endless spiral bands of rain rolling in from the Atlantic on radar. My windows were leaking water, but the lights were still on (though flickering ominously), so it felt like I was on one of those old WW2 battleships riding the Pacific high seas...kind of like the game I was playing at the time! A game called...er, Battle Fleet (lame segue, but hey I tried). The other awesome game featured this week is a totally original platform game called Green Rage. Think alien adventure shoot-em-up and you as the alien. Both of these games are keepers, but Green Rage for iPad/iPhone only plays well on newer iOS devices/versions (iPad2/3/mini, iPhone 4S/5, and iPod 5), so wanted to point that out before diving in. UPDATE 11/6/2012...Green Rage is being pulled from the App store by the vendor (to fix a few things), but will return soon, so I pulled the links above... Learn more in the review below. Battle Fleet is available for 99 cents tomorrow (11/07/12) thanks to a special promotion from One Dollar Wednesday...
Magnet boy is a fun puzzle arcade adventure game that challenges you to fly from magnet to magnet picking up various parts to build a robot. The story of the game starts when a professor who has been building incredible robots is attacked by an evil villain. The villain destroys the professor’s robots and crashes them into many pieces. As the hero of this story, Magnet Boy has to search high and low to find the parts of every destroyed robot, and put them back together.
Am working on a full review of this quirky and unique new platformer from Paralline just released called Green Rage. If you have experienced the platform genre in the past, and think you have seen it all, you haven't and will want to grab this one ($1.99)! You mostly scurry along through twisted and varied obstacles, jump and evade baddies, and shoot stuff! Have to warn that it's version 1.0, and I had some issues with my older devices. The dev is working on those, but if you have a newer iPhone/iPad device running iOS 5.0 or later, shouldn't be a problem. Get it at the link above for iPad or here for iPhone...
Try Guess This is a great app which takes the popular type of game where you have to guess what the other player's word is a big step forward. In this game you get to pick a word, or choose a word that is suggested from the apps library of over 3000 words. Once you've chosen your word you need to help the other player guess it by sending them an image. You can find a picture in your mobile device or take a new picture to send to them to help them guess.
In this fun game you hold the job of “Toppin' Wiper” at a donuts shop. Your job, which may seem simple at first, is to keep the shop walls clean. It becomes more difficult, however, when you find that any time people don't like the donuts they purchase they throw it at the wall of the shop! This happens a surprising amount, so you'll have to clean fast in order to keep those walls clean!
Magellan has offered quality GPS tools for years, so I shouldn't be surprised that their GPS Car Kit
for the iPhone and iPod touch is a quality product. Apple's maps app may not be world class, currently, so Magellan offers their own proven Roadmate app.

Best iPhone Apps, iPad Apps, iPod Touch Apps | iPhone Life Magazine
We review the Best iPhone Apps, iPad Apps, and iPod Touch Apps. Whether you want to play a game (like Chillingham Manor), navigate with GPS, or discover new apps, you can easily get lost. There are so many on the market and the number is increasing on a daily basis. So where to begin? The following examples are just a few of what is out there.
The Head Finder is one of the iPhone apps around. It is a task management or schedule management that helps you organize all the different things you have to do. It has a very simple user interface and it seems they designed all the most common functions to be done with as little tapping and typing as possible which is a real time saver. Several time management apps, in the past, have seemed to waste more time entering events and tasks into the app than you might save by being more organized. With Head Finder you can have a new task entered in less than thirty seconds with their quick three tap process to create a reminder.
Another one of the best Iphone apps we've seen is The JumiCam. This app allows you to view streaming video from any web cam you want with ease. It's easy to set up the software on your PC and then connect your phone to see what's going on at your house. The JumiCam also works very well on either a 3G connection or WiFi. This app allows you to connect to as many different web cams as you want so you can monitor your entire house while you're away if you want. It can really take the place of an entire security service if you wanted it to. There are many ways to use this, from keeping an eye on a babysitter while you're out on a date to making sure your pet is safe at home while you're at work.
As the name describes, U.S. Traveller is made for travelers that call the United States their home and travel to countries outside their own. In opening the iPhone app, on the "Countries" tab, you are presented with a list of countries & their correlating flags. The added flags next to the country names are a nice touch, especially since most people can quickly find a country based on visual representation versus textual representation. You can travel from the U.S. to numerous countries - Chile, Argentina, Germany & Italy to name a few. This may not adequately prepare you for the countries you visit, but this will for sure help you. The amount of information and the ease of access it gives to people is incredibly invaluable.
