Magic Orbz is a game which was very popular on the Play Station 3 platform and has now been ported over to mobile devices. To play the game you have to throw and bounce balls through the different levels to break all the blocks before you run out of lives. The game seems simple at first, but as the levels get progressively more difficult you’ll find that it can become quite challenging.
Slenderman: Unknown Chronicles is one of a few games or apps on iTunes related to the Slender horror genre. The legend is of a tall, slender man that appears in the background of old photographs that include small children. Evidence of kidnappings surround these events, and the Slenderman is purportedly able to stretch his arms and torso to extreme lengths to capture his quarry. The game is sort of like an iOS version of Blair Witch Project (if anyone remembers that)! Ice Riders, a decidedly upbeat, platform-like snowboard simulation combines custom course design with tricky game physics to create a unique, chilly and fun time-killer... I first posted about Frequency last March. It's a great, free, video-streaming app on par with the other leading apps that aggregate free video, such as Plizy and ShowYou. Think of these apps as Flipboard for video. At the time I wrote about Frequency, it was iPad only.

Looking for virtual wintertime fun this holiday, check out Ice Riders or Snow Fight (reviewed last winter season on my blog here), both from Sauce Digital. Ice Riders is a simple way to practice snowboarding tricks without breaking major bones, and as a bonus, you design the course! Snow Fight is soon to get an update, so you might wait a bit before grabbing that one. Both are great time killers for the days when you wish you could be out there on the slopes, instead of, well, stuck inside playing games!!.... Read on for the full PR!
Boulder Dash is an interesting game which is simple in concept, but difficult to master. The idea of the game is not new in that you’re controlling a character in a 2D world where you have to find gems by walking through an underground area. You can dig through sand to explore new areas, push round rocks to crush enemies or allow you to get to the other side of them. There are other tops of rocks which you can’t dig through so you’ll have to explore your way around them.
This week I played 3 awesomely cool games at the $1.99 level and below...Galactic Phantasy Prelude is a space shooter RPG in the same class of game as Galaxy on Fire 2 (SD version recently went free and hit #1 in nine countries). Atomic Frogs, a physics puzzler that requires deft timing and aim to launch your frogs through the various obstacles. Last is a free to play shooter called Dead Trigger, which brings the joy of shredding Zombies to iPad in exquisitely detailed apocalyptic strokes. So, without further adieu, let the WIPTW game review madness commence!....
Best iPhone Apps, iPad Apps, iPod Touch Apps | iPhone Life Magazine
We review the Best iPhone Apps, iPad Apps, and iPod Touch Apps. Whether you want to play a game (like Chillingham Manor), navigate with GPS, or discover new apps, you can easily get lost. There are so many on the market and the number is increasing on a daily basis. So where to begin? The following examples are just a few of what is out there.
The Head Finder is one of the iPhone apps around. It is a task management or schedule management that helps you organize all the different things you have to do. It has a very simple user interface and it seems they designed all the most common functions to be done with as little tapping and typing as possible which is a real time saver. Several time management apps, in the past, have seemed to waste more time entering events and tasks into the app than you might save by being more organized. With Head Finder you can have a new task entered in less than thirty seconds with their quick three tap process to create a reminder.
Another one of the best Iphone apps we've seen is The JumiCam. This app allows you to view streaming video from any web cam you want with ease. It's easy to set up the software on your PC and then connect your phone to see what's going on at your house. The JumiCam also works very well on either a 3G connection or WiFi. This app allows you to connect to as many different web cams as you want so you can monitor your entire house while you're away if you want. It can really take the place of an entire security service if you wanted it to. There are many ways to use this, from keeping an eye on a babysitter while you're out on a date to making sure your pet is safe at home while you're at work.
As the name describes, U.S. Traveller is made for travelers that call the United States their home and travel to countries outside their own. In opening the iPhone app, on the "Countries" tab, you are presented with a list of countries & their correlating flags. The added flags next to the country names are a nice touch, especially since most people can quickly find a country based on visual representation versus textual representation. You can travel from the U.S. to numerous countries - Chile, Argentina, Germany & Italy to name a few. This may not adequately prepare you for the countries you visit, but this will for sure help you. The amount of information and the ease of access it gives to people is incredibly invaluable.
