Summer is here in the Midwest, and it's been an especially hot week so far. Outdoor sporting activities like biking, hiking and jogging during such weather conditions produce copious quantities of sweat. And on those rare occasions when getting caught in a sudden downpour is a thankful cooling off experience (as long as your electronics are not affected as a result). These are just some of the conditions that Pioneer's SE-CL331 headset was designed to handle.
"Awesome!" and "Adorable!" and similar pronouncements were shouted when I displayed the Headphonies® "Stryker" Portable Micro Speaker to my kids! At first, they thought it was a cute little toy like their plethora of figurines from Disney and Hello Kitty, but when I showed them that it was a portable speaker, that actually performed a useful function, they were really into it.
iLounge recently reviewed the Bonjiovi DPS app, and gave it a positive review (B-), so figured I would check it out (esp. being free). I agree that the app improves iOS sound quality, at least coming out of my iPad (due to Digital Power Station's real-time audio re-mastering), but maybe not enough really to make me give up the built-in player apps. In other "what I played" news, Paper Racer and Jet Car Stunts are still my picks for casual game time. Read on for my review of the free DPS app.
Not too long ago I used and reviewed the Waterfield Keyboard Travel Express. Today I wanted to talk about two more organizational products I have been using. These are designed to help organize and transport your electronics and accessories. I will show you Cocoon’s product called the Grid-It Wrap and Skooba Designs Cable Stable Mini. While they have some different purposes, they both share a common goal or task of helping to keep your stuff organized.
The Grid-It Wrap I have been using is for the iPad.
I bought the Withings scale about a month ago and love it. Between it and the WiScale app my iPad and iPhone, I keep tabs on my weight loss progress. It's easy and convenient. Today, I received the Withings Blood Pressure Monitor for review. Here's what I like about the unit:
Case Review: RokBed by RokForm
Leather is one of those guilty pleasures. So if you're going to indulge, do it right. I've been enjoying the latest SENA (http://www.SENAcases.com) for my iPad 2 and they are exceedingly well made. SENA cases are "handcrafted from the finest quality, full-grain genuine leather" and you don't have to take that with a grain of salt... it's true!
UPDATE (20:15 CET, the same day): a reader at MacRumors, Night Spring, has mentioned I've forgotten to point out the other and, in this case, Phone Disk-less and even Windows-friendly way of quickly transferring a complete directory structure to GoodReader running on the iDevice: zip all the files up into one big ZIP file and drop it into the File Sharing frame of GoodReader in iTunes. I've even prepared a video showing this:
I wanted to talk about Zagg's Invisible Shield and a great customer service experience I had this past Thursday. You always hear about the negative experiences people have in general so, I thought I would share a good one.
For Father's Day, my wife had ordered me a custom ZaggSkin for the back of my tablet. There is a mall in Holyoke MA called the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside. It's about an hour away from me but I go here once and a while because they have an Apple Store there also. On one of my previous trips, I spotted a Zagg Mall Cart.
Dock choices for your iPhone or iPad, are seemingly as numerous as apps. We have reviewed a ton of them here on the blogs or in the mag, and it's easy to get overwhelmed picking one. The Stem TimeCommand dock is "simple-smart" gear (coined that term just for this review) to charge your iOS device in the wee hours, and wake your butt in the AM (the simple part). It does the essentials as well as pump out crisp audio. It also has some very cool features (the smart part)...

iPhone accessories is a growing market and knowing where to start looking is half the battle. Whether you're looking for an iPhone accessories, iPad accessories or iPod Touch accessories you can find articles here on the latest products. For example, here's a snippet from an Arm Bands Review:
"Have you ever tried to run with your iPhone in your pocket? It's more awkward than running with scissors. Your phone smacks against your thigh during every step or worse, falls out every few feet. Running with your device in hand is not much better. The headphone cord flops everywhere, and your hand is uncomfortable the entire time. The first step to taking your iPhone or iPod Touch on a run (please don't run with your iPad) is securing it to your body. Armbands can take a little getting used to (it feels slightly like running with a blood pressure cuff) but they are definitely much better than keeping your iPhone or iPod Touch in your pocket. Here are some solutions I've tried out..."
Here's a 2 Cases Comparison article: "There are two cases that protect your iPhone from just about anything: The Ballistic Hard Core and The Otterbox Defender. So which to buy? Both provide the best protection you can buy. The Ballistic provides five layers of protection. The Otterbox provides three. However, the three layers are all that's needed for most people. If you're a telephone repair man or think you might drop your phone three stories, then you might want the extra layers of the Ballistic..."
