Audyssey Audio Dock Air now more valuable than ever

image

I was a little skeptical of the Audyssey Audio Dock Air when I first saw it, but thanks to some changes, it's now a great deal.  The first change is a $100 discount from the $400 list price.  The second change is Apple's pending micro dock which will make traditional docking speakers somewhat obsolete.  Finally, the third change is AirPlay integration in Macs and PCs, in the latest verion of iTunes, and Mountain Lion.

Charge your iPhone while you ride your bike!

Ecoxpower - a pedal powered headlight and smart phone charger for your bike! I just got a press release about the Ecoxgear Ecoxpower charging system and had to pass it on. I'm not doing any bike riding right now, so I can't review the product, but it looks like a great idea!

Review: Scosche REALM On-Ear Headphones

image

I have been using Scosches’ new REALM On-Ear Headphones with tap LINE III (model # RH656md) for a few weeks. This model (along with a few others) came out last month and Scosche sent me a review sample to play with. This accessory is packaged and protected very well for shipment. With the headphones, you also receive a carry/protective pouch as well as an instruction booklet.

What's Next? You Ain't Seen Nuthin' Yet... [on the evolution of Apple]

image

With all the chatter in the blogosphere, about new products soon to be released, and patent battles being fought on all fronts in the courts of law, I think it's important to keep in mind the old expression: "You ain't seen nuthin' yet!" Truly, hasn't this week been a great example of that.

With the court cases bringing out details Apple would just as likely have preferred to keep private, we have been granted a rare insight into the evolution of products in the Apple iDevice chain, as well as having been given glimpses into what Apple had in mind, in prototype form, two years ago.

That said, can you imagine what Cupertino has in store for us in say, 5 years? That's not that long. Think about it. Within 5 years, devices and functions that are now, only in prototype/patent form, may very well be seeing the light of day. It's not for nothing that Johny Ive says that the products Apple is working on now, are some of the best, most exciting products Apple has ever invented!

Sonos adds New Music Services and Features!

image

I enjoy streaming music services probably as much as any form of music listening experience, so it's no wonder I am a big advocate of the Sonos line of internet players and accessories (see my related reviews here). For getting your music wirelessly around the house, there are few choices that compare in terms of quality and ease of use. Doesn't hurt that you can use iPhone or iPad to control it all. Sonos recently added a new device that didn't interest me all that much (a pricey wifi sub-woofer called the SUB), but they have been making quiet and steady progress on their apps and services, so I figure a quick repost up is in order. Not only did their apps get a few helpful tweaks (use hardware buttons to control volume, etc.), Sonos has recently added both the Amazon Cloud Player, and the new Songza service to their menu of selections. Now you can play custom music lists for free via Songza, and/or enjoy your own cloud store of tunes (if they're synced to Amazon) anywhere in your house. You can get more info at their blog here...

Easily print to any home printer thanks to Lantronix xPrintserver

image
Open it. Plug it in. Print. Such is the claim of Lantronix and their xPrintserver, a much needed device that turns just about any printer into an iPad, iPhone and iPod touch compatible printer without any software changes or specialized apps. Well, I tried it, and it's a valid claim. The xPrintserver is a brilliant piece of technology, especially if you have a favorite printer at home or work that otherwise would be left out of the iOS party.

Consider Joy Factory's DuraLink because it's not a cable, it's a lifeline

image
Just like the earbuds that ship with iPods and iPhones, the Apple USB cable isn't meant to be the highest quality item to come out of Cupertino. Apple does a lot of things right, but their cables and earbuds just don't cut it.

iPhone Accessories, iPad Cases, iPod Car Mount | iPhone Life Magazine

iPhone accessories is a growing market and knowing where to start looking is half the battle.  Whether you're looking for an iPhone accessories, iPad accessories or iPod Touch accessories you can find articles here on the latest products. For example, here's a snippet from an Arm Bands Review

"Have you ever tried to run with your iPhone in your pocket? It's more awkward than running with scissors. Your phone smacks against your thigh during every step or worse, falls out every few feet. Running with your device in hand is not much better. The headphone cord flops everywhere, and your hand is uncomfortable the entire time. The first step to taking your iPhone or iPod Touch on a run (please don't run with your iPad) is securing it to your body. Armbands can take a little getting used to (it feels slightly like running with a blood pressure cuff) but they are definitely much better than keeping your iPhone or iPod Touch in your pocket. Here are some solutions I've tried out..."

Here's a 2 Cases Comparison article: "There are two cases that protect your iPhone from just about anything: The Ballistic Hard Core and The Otterbox Defender.  So which to buy?  Both provide the best protection you can buy. The Ballistic provides five layers of protection. The Otterbox provides three. However, the three layers are all that's needed for most people. If you're a telephone repair man or think you might drop your phone three stories, then you might want the extra layers of the Ballistic..."

Perhaps you want to know more about Advanced Power Packs: "Trailblazers, and rugged outdoors types looking for a power pack that adds advanced GPS app features (mophie introducing their own app to go with the new juice pack) need look no further than the latest Juice pack product, called the "outdoor edition."Access to enhanced map sets, and GPS tracking features are among the features the app will offer... read on for more PR info, or go to the link above..."

All of these articles shed some more light on the topic of iPhone accessories and will help you todiscover what is out there on the market.
