Sanho makes a variety of battery packs under the HyperJuice name that give you extra power for iOS, Apple, and other USB based devices, but I was intrigued by their latest offering. The iUSBport
is a hockey puck sized device that takes any USB hard drive or flash drive and turns it into a wireless storage device!
As much as I love new Apple products, one of the drawbacks to being an early adopter is the lack of compatibility with older accessories. In the case of the iPhone 5, to enjoy the new form factor, you have to upgrade to the new, proprietary Lightning connector. While there are adapters for speaker docks, etc., one type lf accessory that has been unable to make the transition is a case with a built in battery.
There is nothing crappier, in my opinion, than knowing the sinking feeling of misplacing or losing a valuable gadget. You know how this scenario goes (as I certainly do): It might be while on a faraway trip, or the restaurant booth down the street. Once you realize it's gone, the first thing you think, right after you contemplate a suitable way to kill yourself is, "Wow, [explicative]...I just lost my 300+ dollar iPad mini! I should just go shoot myself now!!". You also know it's game over... GONE, period! You also probably feel a bit sick to the stomach. Truth to tell if you lose your new iPad mini, you're probably right, but there is a single ray of hope. A good Samaritan, who (if they knew how to contact you), might actually return your valuable gear. FinderCodes can make this possible through the use of a simple QR code tag, and also lets you sweeten the incentive with a reward. Really, what have you got to lose!
You can always count on OtterBox for heavy duty protective cases but also for rapid development of cases following the unveiling of a new Apple device. Sure enough, my iPad mini was just a few days old when I was able to wrap it in a protective Defender case from OtterBox
Forget Find my iPhone, and Find my Friends... With the WalletTrackr, Phone Halo's SelfStarter
(an open source competitor to Kickstarter) project, you can use your iPhone, or iPad, or iPod touch to find just about anything! Attach a fob to your keychain or insert a slim card in your wallet or purse and use their iOS app to find the object using a slick interface. The app will remember where the fob was when you were last in contact with it, and play a song when you become separated, and help you find it, much like Apple's Find my iPhone.
The holidays are once again upon us, and iPhone Life is your trusty resource for informative reviews and great gift ideas this holiday season.
Welcome to my roundup of some of the best iPad carryalls available, here at iPhone Life! The criteria being used for this collective is that each bag must be specifically designed to comfortably accommodate a 10-inch iPad, as well as being unique, ruggedly constructed and built to last. All of the bags featured here are exceptional in their own way, with the common thread that any one of them ought to provide you with years of loyal service. Depending on the conditions you expect the carryalls to be used in and the individual user's temperament, one bag will suit one person better than another might, but I believe that in this roundup there is something for everyone. Whether buying for yourself or for that special someone, I hope you find this compilation both useful and helpful in making your holiday gift bag decisions.
House of Marley: specializing in gear for the iLife.
I can't talk about House of Marley without taking a moment to acknowledge the man who started it all. A man whose principles and messages of love, and “inity” continue to inspire and shape the course of countless lives in so many ways. In fact as testimony to his longevity and influence, Forbes lists Robert Nesta Marley as number 5 on the list of top-earning deceased celebrities.
You'd think squeezing 6000mAh into a sleek container roughly the size of a pack of cards would be cool enough... Only if you've never seen the stupendously excellent range of high-quality power accessories from mophie. The mophie powerstation juice pack duo (available in white exclusively from the Apple store here) is just one of many, but I was able to get the new white duo charger to test out with my new black iPad mini. If you travel a lot with iPad and iPhone in tow, this is an attractive and powerful battery option that will keep your stuff charged up..
I love technology and am quick to upgrade to the latest gadget. I tell myself that it's a business requirement, both as a writer for iPhone Life Magazine and as a developer of apps. But the truth is, even if I had a different job, I'd be upgrading when each new iPhone came out.

iPhone accessories is a growing market and knowing where to start looking is half the battle. Whether you're looking for an iPhone accessories, iPad accessories or iPod Touch accessories you can find articles here on the latest products. For example, here's a snippet from an Arm Bands Review:
"Have you ever tried to run with your iPhone in your pocket? It's more awkward than running with scissors. Your phone smacks against your thigh during every step or worse, falls out every few feet. Running with your device in hand is not much better. The headphone cord flops everywhere, and your hand is uncomfortable the entire time. The first step to taking your iPhone or iPod Touch on a run (please don't run with your iPad) is securing it to your body. Armbands can take a little getting used to (it feels slightly like running with a blood pressure cuff) but they are definitely much better than keeping your iPhone or iPod Touch in your pocket. Here are some solutions I've tried out..."
Here's a 2 Cases Comparison article: "There are two cases that protect your iPhone from just about anything: The Ballistic Hard Core and The Otterbox Defender. So which to buy? Both provide the best protection you can buy. The Ballistic provides five layers of protection. The Otterbox provides three. However, the three layers are all that's needed for most people. If you're a telephone repair man or think you might drop your phone three stories, then you might want the extra layers of the Ballistic..."
