Keystone ECO: Waterproof Protection for Your iPhone Without the Bulk

image

The trouble with most rugged cases, especially those claiming to be waterproof, is that they are too bulky for everyday use. Additionally, getting your iPhone in or out of such a case can take several minutes not to mention a masters degree. The Concord Keystone ECO slim case ($49.99) is changing that with its slim waterproof case.

With the ECO slim case, your iPhone slips into a one-piece clamshell unit, and a latch secures the device in a watertight enclosure. This makes it very easy to switch cases as desired, and since you cannot charge the iPhone while it is in the Keystone case, this is important.

Button TrackR is like Find My iPhone for all Your Important Stuff

image

Find My iPhone is great, but do you ever find yourself wishing you could use it to find your wallet, keys, purse, and other important items? That's where Button TrackR by Phone Halo comes in. With its companion iOS app, Item TrackR (free), you can use your iOS device to find assorted gadgets!

I was already a supporter of Phone Halo's Wallet Trackr project, and once again, I put my money where my mouth is, via crowdfunding site Indiegogo.com as a paid supporter/investor. The new Button TrackR is an even smaller disc, which you attach to your important items and use with its free companion app to track your valuables. I've funded that project, too.

With more than $300,000 in pledges, the new project blew through its $15,000 funding level, but you still have a chance to get early adopter pricing and take some credit for helping. Check it out on Indiegogo and never lose your important items again!

Over-the-Ear Headphones are Back and Here's a Pair You'll Love

image

As a daily walking commuter in the city, I see many people like myself wearing headphones on their way to their destination. I've also noticed an interesting trend—more people are wearing full, outer-ear headsets versus the typical in-ear designs. I attribute this to the improved comfort and sound high-quality outer-ear headphones provide. Phiaton, a company that knows a thing or two about headphone audio reproduction, now offers a high-end model called the Bridge MS 500 ($299). Read on to discover if these headphones are the ones you've been looking for.

This Surface Charges Your iPhone Wirelessly

Powermat brings inductive charging to the masses through clever cases with integrated batteries, magnets, and chargers so you can simply place the device on one of its numerous chargers. Magnets help align the device and a distinctive beep tells you it's charging. I have been reporting on and following the tech company with great interest since its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2009

Forgot Father's Day? It's Not Too Late to Get These as Gifts

If you have traveling geeks in your life (or are a geek traveler yourself) and are looking for two very cool tech products released this year, check out the booq Boa squeeze ($129.95) and the FAVI Bluetooth Keyboard ($39.99) (both plenty cool for non-geeks as well).

Toddy Gear Wedge and Screensters Make Functional and Fun iPhone Accessories

image

It’s been a little more than two years since I reviewed the original Toddy screen cleaning cloth. Since then I think that has been one of the better, if not best, quality (and affordable) screen cleaning accessories on the market. Recently, Toddy Gear came out with two new re-inventions of the screen cleaning system called the Wedge ($14.99) and Screensters ($9.99)

The Wedge is an all-in-one stand and cleaning system. Have a case on? No big deal. Just rest your device on the Wedge and you have an instant stand. Is your screen dirty? Use one side of the Wedge to clean it, and then polish your screen with the other silky side of the stand. This would make a great travel accessory, as it’s fairly light and multi-purpose. The design I have been using is called the Wiseguy Willy Wedge. Check out the product page below to view the various designs available.

Gain Extra iOS Storage with Kingston's MobileLite Wireless

image

When I reviewed Kingston's Wi-Drive around this time last year, I was impressed by the product's innovative solution to the fixed storage capacity of the iPhone and iPad. Even though 64 (or even 128) gigabytes of storage seems like plenty for an iOS device, it's really not if you shoot a lot of video or have a library full of high resolution photos. Before the Wi-Drive came on the market, you were stuck with either lugging along a laptop paired with the iPhone or iPad or using Apple's camera adapter kit. The Wi-Drive made it easy to transport a large volume of media and have it accessible to any Wi-Fi device.

iPhone accessories is a growing market and knowing where to start looking is half the battle.  Whether you're looking for an iPhone accessories, iPad accessories or iPod Touch accessories you can find articles here on the latest products. For example, here's a snippet from an Arm Bands Review

"Have you ever tried to run with your iPhone in your pocket? It's more awkward than running with scissors. Your phone smacks against your thigh during every step or worse, falls out every few feet. Running with your device in hand is not much better. The headphone cord flops everywhere, and your hand is uncomfortable the entire time. The first step to taking your iPhone or iPod Touch on a run (please don't run with your iPad) is securing it to your body. Armbands can take a little getting used to (it feels slightly like running with a blood pressure cuff) but they are definitely much better than keeping your iPhone or iPod Touch in your pocket. Here are some solutions I've tried out..."

Here's a 2 Cases Comparison article: "There are two cases that protect your iPhone from just about anything: The Ballistic Hard Core and The Otterbox Defender.  So which to buy?  Both provide the best protection you can buy. The Ballistic provides five layers of protection. The Otterbox provides three. However, the three layers are all that's needed for most people. If you're a telephone repair man or think you might drop your phone three stories, then you might want the extra layers of the Ballistic..."
