How to take a screenshot image of an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, without any third party apps.

image

Now that we’re at the threshold of  iOS 4.3, one simple tip that ought to be revisited is an easy but still not well-known method native to the iOS that allows you to take a screenshot or screen image and save them in the Photo application for easy transfer via email. This method, which has been in use since iOS 2.0, still works on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in the latest iOS versions. There is no need for any third-party applications. This works even when you are in the middle of a game.

Immersive Spanish - fast and effective language tutor!

image

My wife is a fluent speaker of Spanish, and having heard the language for a while (and watched many Spanish language TV shows), I am starting to understand it, though still like a 2 year old when trying to speak, and often I mistake crucial words. I have tried structured language programs in the past, and I usually don't finish them (see my iStart Spanish review here).

Teach Me Sushi iPad Edition Review

image

Ever wish you could make your own sushi for a dinner party or a more colorful meal than hamburgers and hotdogs? Teach Me Sushi iPad Edition can show you how. Does this video-rich teaching experience deliver the goods? Read on to find out.

I have been a fan of sushi since a former co-worker introduced the delicacy to me nearly 20 years ago. Even though I enjoy this Japanese meal category, making my own has eluded me… until now. Thanks to Jake Davidow's encouraging and highly enthusiastic video presentations in the iPad edition of Teach Me Sushi, I am at least no longer apprehensive about making my own Maki and hand rolls.

Review: The Pad Strap

image

If you like using your iPad with no case it, then this accessory may be for you. The Pad Strap is a hand strap for your iPad. It secures onto the back of your device. The strap is made of two leather pockets with strong elastic in the middle. The leather pockets go over two of the iPad corners. You can use this is portrait or landscape mode.

The elastic is a tight fit on the device which is good.

Review: The Toddy

image

We all love our gadgets but one of the things we despise is the fingerprints and smudges that are left on them. It’s a never ending battle to keep our little guys clean. Chances are you probably have a few or more microfiber cloths lying around. Some of them are nice and some are pretty cheap. Recently, I got to try out a new microfiber cloth called the “Toddy.”

It’s a very stylish 5”x7” cleaning cloth. But don’t let the pretty looks fool you. This guy can clean. The specs below tell you what this is made of.

AT&T-mobile: AT&T gobbles up the other U.S. GSM carrier

image

Did you hear that sound?  If you felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of ringtones rang out, well...  AT&T just gobbled up T-Mobile, for $39 billion.  This consolidation, announced just before the industry's CTIA Wireless show, brings together the 2nd and 4th largest cellular carriers in the U.S., to create a new #1 provider.  Both vendors use GSM technology which should make it easier to integrate the two firms and their customers.

Review: RichardSolo 9000 mAh Mobile Charger

image

Richard Solo introduced another backup battery to their lineup, which is their 9000mAh Mobile Charger. There is enough power in this bad boy to give almost a 100% charge to your iPad or increase the amount of hours you can use your iPhone or iPod. According to their specs as it relates to the iPhone/iPod “the Mobile Charger can increase your movie viewing or Internet browsing time from 5-6 hours to 68 hours — or audio up to 325 hours.” For my review, I am using it exclusively with my iPad.

Pad Strap for iPad

image

Is your iPad too slippery? Are you afraid it will fall out of your hands, but you like the “naked” look? Try the Pad Strap.

The Pad Strap, made of two leather “pockets” and an elastic strap, hooks over two opposite corners. This provides a secure way to hold your iPad without keeping it in a case.

I like the idea. It works well and feels fairly secure. I’m not sure if the elastic will stretch out over time, but it appears fairly stable. It doesn’t add weight and doesn’t get in the way.

Everything iPad - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

What's bigger than an iPhone, smaller than a MacBook, and the most anticipated Apple product since the original iPhone? On January 27, at a special invitation only event at the San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Steve Jobs announced Apple's new "magical, revolutionary product" -- the iPad. Meant to fill the gap between the laptop and phone, Jobs said it was "way better" than either. Let's take a look at it.

Thin, lightweight, and powerful

The iPad shares many hardware features with the iPhone, including an accelerometer, an orientation sensor to switch from portrait to landscape mode, solid-state memory, and the same 30-pin doc connector. Connectivity is also virtually the same, with wireless 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 EDR included on all models.

iPad runs iPhone apps!

The iPad will run a version of iPhone OS, and the new device can run virtually any app developed for the iPhone or iPod touch. Aps developed for the iPhone can run on the iPad in native resolution but is large enough to touch type on.

The larger screen not only makes familiar iPhone apps like Calendar, Mail, and Safari look stunning, it also provides screen real estate for more complex elements in the UI. For example, Calendar display a split-sreen view that describes the day's appointments on the left and shows you a color map of used time slots on the right. The split-screen view in Contacts displays you contacts list on the left and the full information for the contact you've selected on the right.

An ebook reader and more

Although not build into the iPad, Apple will offer a free app called iBooks, which will allow you to download and read books from it's new virtual bookstore. The new iBooks store will be accessed from and as easy to use as iTunes.

The ultimate media device?

The iPad is not the world's first tablet PC or the first eBook reader. Toshiba, Lenovo, Acer, and others sell Windows-based tablets, and Amazon has had considerable success with it's Kindle. But Apple thinks the iPad will reinvent the category by offering a vastly superior multi-touch interface an easy access to a wide-variety of apps and media via iTunes. Aple hopes to make the iPad the ultimate media device by leveraging it's existing assets which include over 100 million paying iTunes customers, established relationships with music and video content providers, and over 100,000 iPhone OS app developers.
