Alongside crossword puzzles, the game that is a family favorite in any local newspaper is Sudoku. The ultimate passer of extra time, Sudoku has long been a way for people to keep their minds stimulated. Now, with SudokuPDQ, you can take Sudoku anywhere with you, as long as you have your mobile device on hand. However, the developers of this game have taken Sudoku to another level, allowing users to do things with the game that can’t be found in any old newspaper. Although its graphics aren’t particularly flashy, SudokuPDQ captures all that it needs to in regard to the game of Sudoku.

Epson MegaPlex 850HD projector saves the Summer

image
For several years, I've been showing movies on the garage for the neighborhood kids. When the iPad came out, with the optional VGA cable, it enhanced the portability of my setup. I no longer needed to lug a laptop to connect to my projector. But Apple, while they usually do things right, didn't do a great job with their VGA connector dongle. It uses the 30 pin connector but doesn't provide a way to power an iOS device, so you're limited to the battery life of the iPad or iPhone. Apple also offers composite, component, and HDMI connectors, which fixed this, but most projectors are wired for VGA not HDMI and Apple's VGA dongle is easy to keep in your bag.

iWOW-U lives up to its name and breathes new life into your music, headphones and car stereo

image

Before you drop $300 on a fancy celebrity endorsed set of headphones, you might be better served trying the iWOW-U from SRS Labs and your existing headphones. That's what I did, with a $20 pair of Sony headphones and the sound quality was significantly better. The iWOW-U is a 3.5mm extension cord but with a twist. It includes a powered amplifier that enhances the sound quality and does a great job of stereo separation... I was skeptical, but the improvement was immediately noticeable and I am a tough cookie to please.

Dockem advances the state of the art in wall mounts

image
Dockem has a smart set of wall mounts for assorted tablets and smartphones that address some of the deficiencies found in competing mounts. For starters, they accommodate just about any size device, and even with a case or smart cover in the case of the iPad.

By splitting the mount into two parts. They can accommodate devices of different width, in portrait or landscape mode (though you will have to decide which orientation before you finalize affixing your mounts.)

Bunny Run is a free application that allows you to play as a bunny and avoid getting smashed by vehicles. Whether you’re crossing the road or crossing train tracks, you’ll want to be careful and avoid being dinner for scavengers. You were constantly in a rush and trying to not get squished by traffic. Well unlike Frogger, Bunny Run has unique dynamics, amazing graphics and endless gameplay to keep you occupied.

Game Review: DEAD TRIGGER

image

DEAD TRIGGER, the newest game release from MADFINGER games (makers of the other App Store smash hit, SHADOWGUN) is one of the best First Person Shooters available right now. This game is freakishly scary, and has been a very hard game for me to put down, partly due to its killer graphics, and partly due to its excellent gameplay. The post-apocalyptic environment you find yourself in is desolate with lethal danger around every corner. Abandoned buildings and deserted alleyways will become your tomb, if you are lucky. If not so lucky, well then I reckon you end up like them.

The Lion And The Mouse By Kid App Review

image

The Lion And The Mouse By Kid is a great application for children looking for an entertaining game. The application features graphics targeted towards the children demographic and is a very informative application. The Lion And The Mouse features 33 beautiful animated scenes that are drawn in a very cartoony atmosphere.

Amazing Kitty: Cute Feline-themed Puzzler

image

Amazing Kitty from Shiconal is a feel-good feline-themed puzzle matching game that is practically guaranteed to have players addicted from the get-go.

The simple premise of this friendly little matching game is to get two of the bouncy, square-ish kitties that look alike to touch-and to tap them before they lose contact, and meet each stage’s clear-condition goal. Sounds familiar enough, right? Don’t get too ahead of yourself—Amazing Kitty might sound like a typical matching game, but it has plenty of charm all its own.

What I played this week includes a mix of apps for both work and play, and warn you this will be a lengthy column, as also have a bit of game news to share at the end. So, let's jump in--play before work, as the saying goes: Bounty Racer (beta) is an exquisite crash cart-esque 3D racing menagerie (should be released next week). Second, Kingdom Rush for iPhone is engaging, if tiny, Tower Defense fun with rousing vocals and clashing swords to keep you alert through endless enemy waves. Pearltrees is a "web curation" app (web-content mind mapping/sharing) with an interesting way to find/share online content. Stitcher is to news radio and podcasts what Slacker or Pandora are to music.  Lot's to look at, so let the WIPTW madness commence forthwith!

iPad Reviews, News, Tips and Tricks

Searching for the best iPad reviews, news or tips and tricks on accessories, apps, gadgets and more is just as important as figuring which apple product you should get in the first place. iPad reviews and news on different products allow you to make a more conscientious decision, but where should you look.  Here at iPhone Life Magazine we work towards answering these very questions.  This page is dedicated to iPad reviews, news, tips and tricks.  This is just one example of a review that we have online (The Green Figure iHolder iPad Stand).

Another great thing about doing research is that sometimes you will find something that you weren't looking for and that can help you.  For example, our page on The Best of 2011 shows our reviews for some of the best products that came out this past year.  This link gives you just a taste of some of the concrete examples of reviews that we do.

Now, the iPad 2 has been around for several months and there have been several companies that have based themselves around the needs of this tablet.  However, it is still a competitive world in the market of accessories.  Anyone could be easily overwhelmed by all the available stands, apps, cases or any of the other niche markets.  We would definitely recommend doing some research and checking out some iPad reviews to get an idea of whats available and how you are going to use your device. The market has several options to choose from today.

Such examples as IK Multimedia, have been on a roll lately, with a slew of hardware and software products tailored for amateur and prosumer musicians. Whether its stands and clips for iPhones and iPads or multitrack recording and sampling software for the iOS platform, IK has been expanding their catalog at a prodigious rate. Their latest releases include a MIDI hardware connector for the iOS platform, a sound sampler app and a iPad version of their popular VocaLive software. These iPad reviews will take a closer look at each.

Whatever you may be searching for, we too are looking for answers and want to help you find them.
