Children’s stories have changed quite a bit since the invention of mobile devices. This unique book, called Broadway Barks, is no exception. The app brings children much more than just a story to read before bedtime. It can bring those interactive activities, colorful illustrations, assisted reading, and more importantly, an educational experience. Your children will never get bored with this story or the app that it is part of. The story itself is based off of real issues in today’s society, and by reading it children will be brought up to speed on some of the important things that they never learn about in school.
I've used a variety of external battery packs over the years, but none have met all of my needs, until now. The Peak from myCharge
packs plenty of power, with up to 6000mAh but what really helps is the built-in 30pin Apple PLUS microUSB connectors, and an on-board USB port. And most importantly, that 30pin cable provides enough juice to power an iPad.
This means you don't have to worry about lost cables, and you can be charging up to three devices at a time. The other bonus is fold out wall prongs to recharge the Peak
You don't have to settle for plastic or even metal accessories thanks to Altaz
. I had a chance to use their latest Micro-Fi miniature speakers
and they represent such a pleasant juxtaposition of today's technology and real wood speakers. The Altaz Micro-Fi
is highly reminiscent of the bookshelf speakers I had in college, back when people cared about how things were made.
As a matter of principle, I try not to buy the higher memory configurations of iPhones and iPads. It doesn't seem right to charge an extra $100 for 16GB or even 32GB of additional memory, considering SD cards sell for a fraction of that amount. But I do find myself running out of memory, especially when it comes to videos and music.
has a low cost, reliable solution. The i-FlashDrive
is a USB flash drive with a 30 pin connector on the opposite end. You can plug the USB end into your computer and copy files in either direction.
I like cars. Guilty as charged. We have a couple of convertibles (an Alfa Romeo Spyder, a Fiat 2000) and now, even a Vespa. When we get a new vehicle, I try to buy a small diecast toy of that particular model. Just something to look at while the vehicles are in storage during the winter.
Finally! An awesome new handheld game for drum lovers! Drum Fanatics is a new app for your iPhone, iPod or iPad that allows you to get your drum addiction in even when you are away from your drum set. Or if you’re looking to start learning the rhythm of drums but don’t have a set yet, this is a fun easy way to start! This drum game uses your fingers in a five line music rhythm system so you can rock out to your favorite songs.
I recently reviewed a new stylus (see GoSmart review here), so figured I would swing back and repost on some of the drawing apps I used in the review. I also wanted to cover a unique "self-drawing" app created by Eric Hayes (an MIT math wiz and artist) called Set Paint Go. In this drawing roundup: Grafio, a very powerful diagramming and drawing toolset with a highly capable Lite version; Illustrator, another simple editor that can help you produce great looking graphics in like 2 seconds. I also have a few quick tips for when app crashes occur on older hardware, since I have been having some issues with an aging gadget...
The third and final chapter of the Moonwall series (originally called “The Train”) has finally arrived on the iPad, and I couldn’t wait to dig into it. I’ve always been a fan of the series thanks to its intriguing story, even though part two had a few annoyances where the game engine was concerned. This last episode seems to have fixed those issues for the most part, and continued to uphold the tradition of strong story and some challenging puzzles. There were even a couple of innovative uses of the device, at least where adventure games are concerned. My biggest disappointment, however, besides the fact that this was the end, was how it ended. Still, up until the last few minutes of the game the journey was certainly worth it.

Now, the iPad 2 has been around for several months and there have been several companies that have based themselves around the needs of this tablet. However, it is still a competitive world in the market of accessories. Anyone could be easily overwhelmed by all the available stands, apps, cases or any of the other niche markets. We would definitely recommend doing some research and checking out some iPad reviews to get an idea of whats available and how you are going to use your device. The market has several options to choose from today.

These iPad reviews will take a closer look at each.
