Headphones that complement your new iPhone, or any iOS device

image
My traditional 30 pin iPod speaker docks are pretty much obsolete now, thanks to the new Lightning connector. But that's okay, because I can use the audio jack and Bluetooth to enjoy audio from my new iPhone 5. I've come across a number of gadgets that make the transition easy. Suppose you want to use headphones for privacy and isolation.

ReplayerHD for iPad

image

Replayer HD is an extremely useful app available for the iPad which allows you to play videos in a wide range of formats which are not available by default on the iPad.  It has a number of other great features as well which make this versatile app extremely useful for anyone who uses their tablet to watch movies, video clips or even for listening to audio.

Review: Tales From The Dragon Mountain: The Strix HD by G5 Entertainment

image

I know it's possible to have more than one really good game in a given genre but as far as hidden object games on the iPad are concerned The Cursed Heart has set an extremely high bar that's going to be hard to reach let alone beat. Tales From The Dragon Mountain doesn't even come close in that regards, and in a way it's unfortunate that I chose this one as my next hidden object game to play.  On the other hand, it actually does a couple things really well, and in the end manages to suck you in until the final battle with Strix.  You just have to look past a few things like aging graphics, relatively short play time and overly simple mini-games.

MyShelf Review - Note syncing bliss without the privacy issues!

image

I really gave Evernote a huge try. Pumped loads of web info, article research, photos and screenshots in there.  Even had my camera SD card configured to post images to my account (check out my review here on how to do this). The love affair ended really not because of any one thing, but a lot of nuisances. General sluggishness and sync issues that crept in. Bigger problems like somehow losing extensive posts or article content I had spent hours crafting, and more obnoxious things like crashing and hanging up. If you looking for an app that can give you simple note/interest gathering capability with little in the way of distractions, you might want to try out MyShelf as an alternative. It won't knock EN off it's lofty perch, but it does let you share note and interest data across your devices.

HotDoc for iPad

image

The iPad is one of the most powerful and versatile tablets available on the market today.  It does, however, have a few important things that are lacking.  One of them is the file management system that it uses.  There is no good and easy way to manage your office and other files, until now.  HotDoc was developed to have a focus on the ergonomic and aesthetic user interface of the iPad and put it to use in managing all your files.

Lili brings console quality graphics and universally enjoyable game play to iOS.

image

Lili ($5.00) is the fantastic new game from the veteran video game designers at BitMonster. While it may be their first collective foray into the world of iOS games under their current indie business incarnation, each one of the six senior developers has impressive experience and credentials which uniquely prepare them to spearhead this new game development company. Lili is a new release as well as Apple Editor’s Choice and it is nothing short of a masterful creation! In fact, I would go so far as to say Lili may be a contender for Best RPG of the year.

Wireless audio is the future and EDGE.sound has the edge

image
Apple's new Lightning dock connector has made traditional iPod docks obsolete, and since vendors haven't created Lightning dock stereos, yet, it's pretty clear that the future is using wireless technologies like AirPlay and Bluetooth to transmit audio.

Gibbets 2 for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch

image

Gibbits 2 is an innovative arcade puzzle game where you have to help someone who is hanging from a hangman’s rope.  While this may sound quite simple and straight forward, it is actually a bit more complex than that.  To free the hanging man you need to carefully aim your bow and arrow to cut the rope.  Of course, you have to be extra careful not to accidently hit the man causing him further injury, and if you take too long he will die from suffocation.

Dexim cables are visibly better

image
There's a lot of talk about Apple's proprietary Lightning cable for the new iPhone 5, but there are millions of existing iPhone, iPads, and iPod touch devices that still use the 30 pin connector. In fact, now that the iPhone 4 can be purchased for under $100, there will be even more sold.

iPad Reviews, News, Tips and Tricks

Searching for the best iPad reviews, news or tips and tricks on accessories, apps, gadgets and more is just as important as figuring which apple product you should get in the first place. iPad reviews and news on different products allow you to make a more conscientious decision, but where should you look.  Here at iPhone Life Magazine we work towards answering these very questions.  This page is dedicated to iPad reviews, news, tips and tricks.  This is just one example of a review that we have online (The Green Figure iHolder iPad Stand).

Another great thing about doing research is that sometimes you will find something that you weren't looking for and that can help you.  For example, our page on The Best of 2011 shows our reviews for some of the best products that came out this past year.  This link gives you just a taste of some of the concrete examples of reviews that we do.

Now, the iPad 2 has been around for several months and there have been several companies that have based themselves around the needs of this tablet.  However, it is still a competitive world in the market of accessories.  Anyone could be easily overwhelmed by all the available stands, apps, cases or any of the other niche markets.  We would definitely recommend doing some research and checking out some iPad reviews to get an idea of whats available and how you are going to use your device. The market has several options to choose from today.

Such examples as IK Multimedia, have been on a roll lately, with a slew of hardware and software products tailored for amateur and prosumer musicians. Whether its stands and clips for iPhones and iPads or multitrack recording and sampling software for the iOS platform, IK has been expanding their catalog at a prodigious rate. Their latest releases include a MIDI hardware connector for the iOS platform, a sound sampler app and a iPad version of their popular VocaLive software. These iPad reviews will take a closer look at each.

Whatever you may be searching for, we too are looking for answers and want to help you find them.
