Limited Time Offer - Galaxy on Fire 2™ HD available at HALF PRICE!

image

One of my all-time fav games ever, Galaxy on Fire 2™ HD, is on sale for a limited time at 50% off ($4.99). This game is a smorgasbord of awesome 3D space action and adventure for iPad and iPhone! You can spend hours just trading and exploring/hopping from world to world, building your own home grown weapons, and upgrading your ship. Sometimes, for kicks I turn guns on a friendly, become a space pirate and see how long I can survive! Of course, you can also immerse yourself fully in the storyline and play along with the main game objectives. Whichever way you go, it's just good old-fashioned fun and it's now half priced! More info follows the break...

FantasyxRunners App Review

image

The FantasyxRunners app puts a new and exciting twist on the popular ‘running’ type of app.  Like other runner apps the game is played with your character running across the screen and either avoiding or killing enemies and jumping over pits and other obstacles.  While running through the different levels you collect rubies by running over them or collecting them from enemies which you kill.  When running you can’t stop or turn around so you have to have quick reflexes to collect all the possible rubies.

What I played this week - Paper Monsters and Crash Bandicoot!

image

Paper Monsters is certainly one of the best platformers for iPad/iPhone I have experienced, and got it for the limited free app a day price, but it's only back up to 99 pennies today, so definitely still a steal. Everything about the game is great. Engaging levels, superior graphics, easy control, and catchy music. The overall mood is so cheerful, and uplifting, can't help but smile when you play, and the interesting backgrounds, obstacles and scenes make it that much more fun to keep playing. Grab Paper Monsters from Crescent Moon Games here, or read on for the rest of the review including a short YouTube demo video. Also, in retro gaming news, Activision dropped several of their games to the 99 cent level this weekend, so grabbed Crash Bandicoot this week too...

Brandnew Boy: 3D Action RPG Adventure for iPhone Review

image

If you know games, you know Unreal Engine is the head of the pack for 3D graphics. If you didn’t know that, well, now you do.  And it’s part of the genius recipe behind Oozoo’s new entry: Brandnew Boy.  The game offers up great graphics that run smoothly, but it’s got a whole lot more on the menu as well.

Review: Propel Man by Spiel Studios

image

I probably say this more often than I should, but it still amazes me that often the most basic concepts can be the most addictive.  Such is the case with the game Propel Man, which falls under the genre of “launch and watch” in terms of game play.  It’s certainly a concept you’ve seen many a time before, but Propel Man presents itself in such a way that it almost feels like a fresh take on the idea.  Slick audio and visual elements certainly don’t hurt the cause either.

App Review - The Dream by Swipea

image

The dream is a children's story about the main character named Ahmad and his adventure.  The book can be either read by kids, or the app will read it to the children making it a fun app for kids from about age two through twelve.  In addition to the story this app includes a 'fact find' section where you can tap on highlighted words while reading the story to learn some fun facts such as what different words mean.  There is also a 'happy bazzar' which is a place to find related apps quickly and easily.  There are several related apps to choose from and with a quick tap you'll be taken right to the app store.

Review: Fibble HD by Crytek

image

It’s the same old story – alien ship gets hit, and despite their always advanced technology they end up helplessly careening into the earth.  Much like another physics puzzler called Marbians you end up in a suburban home and find out that humans are much bigger than you are.  You must find all your friends and ultimately flee your gigantic surroundings.  The atmosphere is cute but the levels can be quite challenging, so feel free to take the game for a spin even if you are a “macho” adult.  So far I haven’t been disappointed.

iDoc's Top 10 iPhone App Recommendations.

image

Considering how many apps are available in the Apple app store, not to mention how many are actually on my iPhone (close to 300), it's a bit daunting of a task to come up with only 10 apps to recommend here and now! There are simply so many amazing and award-winning apps out there and each is suited to an individual uniquely.

Best iPad Games, Reviews, Free iPad Games

The best iPad games, reviews, and free iPad games are always hard to find, especially when you don't know where to start.  Tons of reviews on 'the game that must be played' are written right here on this page.  We are constantly looking for ways to improve and the article on the NBA 2K12, is just one example of what we do.

Here is a brief description of the article:  “In iOS world, there’s an App for everything, and everything has an App.  Until recently, the only exclusion was that of a true NBA game.  Well thanks to NBA 2K12, by 2K Sports, throwback fans of “The Hick from French Lick” and his more modern counterpart of “The Candy Man” now have their favorite teams and players in reach of both thumbs.  This is 2K sports first edition (in iOS format) for this #1 selling basketball game.  Did they do right by iOS users?  In short, “Yea baby”, they did.”

We try and keep the articles lively and informative.  Although not all of them are based on sports.  Skillz is one example that has become one of the most addictive and an overall fun game that has recently hit the market.  The concept matches many other popular music games that test your rhythm, tap speed, and ability to rock the turn tables.  It’s similar to Guitar Hero and Rock Band, but much more difficult which makes it appealing.

Another key point in choosing the best iPad games are the graphics.  Shadowgun is a new game that is pressing the boundaries of the new graphic cards.  The linked article even has a video for you to see what it actually looks like.  It's a first person shooter that guides the gamer through an intense story line out in space.

All reviews, like the ones linked above, are the best iPad games that we can find.
