Nomad goes where no stylus has gone before #MacWorld

image
There are a lot of stylus' out there, but Nomad Brush has a couple that make a big difference. First, the Nomad Play is targeted at kids thanks to its smaller length, larger width, and wooden handle. But what really sets it apart is the paintbrush style tip, with conductive fibers so users can 'paint' directly on the screen. There is a rubber base where the fibers meet the stylus, so it reduces the chance of kids scraping the screen.

Review: The Passenger by Loading Home

image

I love adventure games, as it was probably the first genre I got hooked on when I started playing computer games.  As the genre goes it’s always nice to see an original IP pop up in the App Store, so I was pretty excited when I ran across The Passenger.  After playing and finishing it, however, I’m not quite sure how I feel about it.  There are certainly some nice points to the game, but ultimately it felt too basic and more disappointedly, way too short.  I’d still be more than happy to see a sequel, but the game will need a lot more meat to produce I viable franchise.

Take the arcade with you, with mobile iCade offerings from ION at CES

image

I've been playing with the original iCade for a few months (see original article here), and it's been great fun, but it sure ain't portable.

Well, the folks at ION have come through. At CES, they showed off their new iCade Jr., which brings arcade-style joystick and buttons from the larger model to the iPhone and iPod touch.

iPad App Review: Vodio

image

Vodio is a great new app for the iPad that allows you to watch videos quickly and easily. Like other similar apps, this one has an impressive display and is able to get videos from a number of different sources. The controls are very easy to learn and use, which makes this a great app for anyone who enjoys watching all sorts of videos. While all this alone makes for a pretty good app, Vodio has some impressive features which nobody else has to date.

The iPad goes retro with Etch-A-Sketch from Headcase at CES

image

The iPad was meant to be turned into an Etch-A-Sketch! With the officially licensed Etch-A-Sketch case, from Headcase, combined with the iOS app, you can wow your friends, classmates, and colleagues. Everyone has thought of it, but Headcase went ahead and did it, for both the iPhone and iPad.

You can't help but smile when you see the case. And when you use the app, it all comes back to you. Of course you can shake it to erase it... It wouldn't be legitimate without that feature!

Blink Master Review

image

Blink master is a fun game of speed, general knowledge and timing which requires you to be able to quickly see clues and piece them together as quickly as possible.  The general play of the game starts you off with a category from either 'famous personality', 'place', 'movie', or 'book.   Each problem has 9 clues which are flashed in front of you very quickly and then covered up by tiles.  Once the tiles are up you can answer the question if the quick glimps of the clues were enough, or elect to uncover one tile to see the clue better.  Each tile you uncover, you lose points.
