The Zaggsparq 2.0 is the latest external battery pack I was testing out with the iPad. This is also the first battery from Zagg that I have tried.
Scosche is one of those rare accessory companies that thinks up new items you didn't know you needed. They also tend to build a better mousetrap such that you don't want to go back to the old one. As I pack and prepare for the cross-country trip to Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference in San Francisco, I'm trying to pack light. No MacBook, just my iPad 2. I'll bring my Apple wireless keyboard, for lengthy typing sessions, but that's about it. The iPad's ten hours should suffice, pending nightly recharges, but to be safe I'm bringing the following Scosche gadgets:
If you recall, I reviewed the Sena Folio with keyboard case for the original iPad back in January. Recently, I have been using the regular Sena Folio case. If you are using an iPad 2, this review should still interest you as Sena has a version of the Folio for that device as well (Although the iPad 2 version seems to have some really nice enhancements made to the stands and where they are placed).
The leather case comes in a cardboard box.
In my search for a particular case for one of my devices, I came upon several iPad cases that are being sold, apparently at a clearance rate, by AT&T, online only. Scroll down the link I provided.
I saw a press release today for an app called "ZombieBooth." This was a little weird because I had downloaded the app earlier on my non iOS tablet, as that had a camera on it. There is an iOS version also which works on your iPad2, Ipod Touch 4 or your iPhone which have cameras on it.
Basically, you can see what people would be like if they were zombies. These are not just pictures. There is animation involved. It really is pretty freaky, but it's fun.
The press release is below. You can see what the app is all about. The link below is to the free Lite Version. There are paid versions also.
Back in January and November, I reviewed a couple of the Powis iCases for the iPad. I will throw the links at the end.
If you think you should wing it, and not get protection for your hugely expensive iPad 2 device, uh well... I think you are loony! Especially for the people out there that are mountain-biking, scaling tall buildings and similar extreme craziness on their lunch breaks (with the iPad tossed into a backpack). You people need serious protection. Seidio Online has what you are looking for in the new ACTIVE case/cover thingy...read on for full press info...
Last month I reviewed and tried out the Timbuk2 Freestyle Messenger bag. While I generally liked it, there were a couple things that I was not fond of. The strap being the major one and the iPad insert being the minor one. I have had an opportunity to use the Booq Taipan Slim bag, and while it’s not a true messenger bag, this bag addresses all these issues.
The Taipan is made of nylon, has a water repellant coating and comes in larger sizes also. This bag will fit up to a 13” laptop.
Today's guest blogger is Blaine Moyer. Blaine recently won an iPad 2 case in our iPad engraving contest. After a certain unnamed company (*cough* Incipio *cough*) failed to send his prize, we sent Blaine the Bear Motion Leather iPad 2 Case. Blaine has been keeping his new iPad in a cardboard box while waiting for his new case to arrive. When the case finally arrived, he was nice enough to send us pictures of the unboxing. Congratulations Blaine on your new case.
Personally, I cut up a microfiber cloth, which I buy at Wal-mart, to use on my iPad and iPhone. But, I certainly wouldn’t give that as a gift.
If you’re looking for a gift, check out the Toddy Smart Cloth. Anyone with an iPad or other electronic devices will appreciate it as being functional as well as very nice looking!

New audio accessories are constantly evolving for all iOS devices, and starting earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), there were some great ones in action. Most prefer something compact, with good quality sound, and affordability. An integrated app is nice, but not crucial.
The Bose MIE2i wired mobile headset
are perfect examples of earbuds that are compact, have great sound quailty and are affordable. They are highly rated for both sound quality and comfort. They come with three sizes of StayHear silicon tips and an answer/end button on the inline microphone. The reviews say the quality of sound is tops. Note that these are standard earbuds - no noise-isolating to block unwanted sound.
A comparison of these earbuds and other great accessories are in the 2011 Best Gear article.
