Powis iCase: New Leather edition

image

Back at the end of November, I reviewed the Powis iCase. You can find that review at the link below. Recently, they launched a new leather design. I am not going to re-review the case, as the design and functionality itself did not change. But I did want to mention two things about it.

The leather design comes in two grades. Powis offers a Premium Leather version for $79.99 and a Lightly Textured one for $59.99. The one in my pictures is Tan Pebble. The leather is tight to the cover and looks nice.

Review: Speck PixelSkin iPad Case

image

This is my first Speck iPad case review. I’m very excited as I will also have a few others in the upcoming weeks to share with you also. The PixelSkin was named based on its design of it’s 5DPI pixel likeness. It’s a silicone case that is pretty thick. I have used silicone cases on my devices in the past and some were made very thin and felt like they could rip if you handled it wrong. Not the case here.

Sena Folio Keyboard Part 2 of 2

In Part 1 of this review, I provided the unboxing and general case pictures and features. The link for that is here:

This is the fourth keyboard case I have used in the last few months. Two of the folio style cases were from Kensington and Handstands. I think the Kensington Folio is the one that I can really compare the Sena Folio to.

Review: Sena Keyboard Folio (Part 1 of 2)

image

When you think of Sena, you probably think of great leather cases, that’s at least what I think anyway. During my previous pocket pc days, I have owned and used their cases and really enjoyed it. Recently, they just started shipping their new Keyboard Folio for iPad case and I was very lucky to be able to try it out (Thank You Sena). This post is more of an unboxing with some of the keyboards specs and features below. I just opened it today. Over the next several days, I will be giving this a workout and will report back with my review in part 2.

I received the case which was in a gift type box.

Review: Geminus Genius Case

image

Here is an iPad case that reminds me a bit of my old Day Planner days. Jovan Van Drielle of Geminus Inc. designed a folio case she calls the Genius Case. She was looking for a case that had the below characteristics/features.

Geminus Genius iPad Case Review

Many moons ago when I first started my professional business career right after college, my dad gave me a beautiful briefcase to match my young executive suit and tie look. I still have that briefcase somewhere in my basement, but it's a relic from a bygone era, a hold-out from the Mad Men time period of his generation.

IDAPT and Scosche at #CES

image

Many of our top picks for 2010 Buyer's guide were on display this year. We reviewed the IDAPT i4, Scosche flipSYNC and the sneakPEEK II here on our blogs, and were big hits at  the show. The i4 was one of my top picks in our Buyer's Guide for 2010, and the flipSYNC garnered an honorable mention. IDAPT unveiled their latest and greatest charging wonder at CES: The i1Eco. A universal charging solution that will let you recharge multiple gadgets (much like the i4), but will work in both car and home.

Dreaming of unlimited power, thanks to dreamGEAR at #CES

image

A consistent theme at CES has been battery life, or the lack thereof.  iPhone Life has covered a number of gadgets and cases that can double or even triple the battery life of an iOS device thanks to a 2,000mAh battery.  So imagine the technolust when we saw a device with eight times that capacity!  They promise 480 hours for five devices!

Your iPad might not survive being driven over, but the 3feet stand will #CES

image

iPhone Life does NOT recommend driving a car over your iPad or iPhone or over anything other than paved roads for that matter, but if you should drive over the "3feet stand" it should survive.  The 3feet is rugged, flexible, and compact.  You can use it with an iPad, iPhone, iPod, Kindle, Nook or similar device.

LensPen offers the perfect sidekick for touchscreen devices at #CES

image

We love our touchscreen devices but they can get dirty in an instant.  Parkside Optical, the folks behind the LensPen, a patented carbon cleaning based device originally created for cameras, have put their technology to work for touchscreen devices.  Unlike a simply chamois cloth, their SideKick Screen Cleaner uses chemistry to remove smudges and fingerprints.  But unlike liquid cleaners, the SideKick is a solid substance so there's no mess and you can throw it in your gadget bag without worrying about airport security.

New audio accessories are constantly evolving for all iOS devices, and starting earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), there were some great ones in action. Most prefer something compact, with good quality sound, and affordability. An integrated app is nice, but not crucial.

The Bose MIE2i wired mobile headset

are perfect examples of earbuds that are compact, have great sound quailty and are affordable. They are highly rated for both sound quality and comfort. They come with three sizes of StayHear silicon tips and an answer/end button on the inline microphone. The reviews say the quality of sound is tops. Note that these are standard earbuds - no noise-isolating to block unwanted sound.
A comparison of these earbuds and other great accessories are in the 2011 Best Gear article.
