Apple Gear Group Buying (OrderBorder)

image

Here is some news from Sena that you may find helpful and also save some cash on. If you are a Sena customer, you probably also received an offer in your email as well.

Their parent company, Oten Inc., today launched a new group-buying website focused on only Apple related products, the site is: www.orderborder.com

From what I have read, it also has a unique points earning system as well. I can’t see where there is a cost or any risk to this program.

Customize that iPad!

image

Apple might control most of what you see when you turn on your iPad, but that shouldn't stop you from customizing the exterior.  I recently had the opportunity to try three distinct customization options for my new iPad 2, and it was a lot of fun! I thought it would be neat to have my iPad look like an actual printed issue of iPhone Life Magazine!  So I used our Buyer's Guide as my image.  It worked well because the black background could mask any seams and be expanded or cropped as needed.

Review: Ten One Design Fling Joystick for iPad

image

If you like playing games, especially first person shooters like me, then I think the Fling is one of those must have accessories. The Fling by Ten One Design is a Joystick for your iPad (both versions). The installation is as simple as two suction cups. I used it over my existing screen protector and it worked fine.

Review: Innopocket Transformer Case for iPad

image

This is an interesting case by Innopocket which fits the original iPad. It’s called The Transformer. This case is a full front, side and back protector which is made of clear polycarbonate. I like it because it allows you to show off and see the iPad design in full, and still keep it protected.

When you receive the case, it is protected with a plastic sheet on it. Just peel it off, slip the iPad in, and you are ready to go.

This case is also designed for both right and handed people.

Cooking with the FridgePad - love it!

image

One of my favorite apps is Paprika Recipe Manager. I use it in the kitchen almost everyday, but I worry about getting food or liquid on my iPad. But now, with the FridgePad, I can hang my iPad on the refrigerator out of the way of food and liquid spills. Perfect!

You can use the FridgePad to read recipes; check your email, the news, travel info, and weather; listen to music or watch videos.

Review: Mission Workshop Rambler Backpack

image

Mission Workshop is a company in San Francisco that designs and makes messenger bags and backpacks (and apparel too). All of their products are proudly made in America. They sent me over a Rambler backpack to try out and this thing is a beast (a good beast). I have a Swiss gear backpack that I have used for years.

Review: URBANEARS Plattan Headphones

image

I just finished trying out another set of headphones. The Plattan is a medium sized headphone from URBANEARS. This stylish headset comes packaged in a cardboard box which is accompanied by two cable extensions. These extensions allow compatibility with many devices.

There are a lot of features designed into this unit.

The set folds down for portability.

Back in January, I reviewed the Genius Case for iPad. Geminus is currently in the process of bringing this design to the iPad 2.

The link to my review is below which also has the webpage for Geminus.

Most iPad owners purchase a case to protect their device. The descriptions not only include the list price but also the price on Amazon, so that you can get a sense for how much they're selling for through other online retailers.

New audio accessories are constantly evolving for all iOS devices, and starting earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), there were some great ones in action. Most prefer something compact, with good quality sound, and affordability. An integrated app is nice, but not crucial.

The Bose MIE2i wired mobile headset

are perfect examples of earbuds that are compact, have great sound quailty and are affordable. They are highly rated for both sound quality and comfort. They come with three sizes of StayHear silicon tips and an answer/end button on the inline microphone. The reviews say the quality of sound is tops. Note that these are standard earbuds - no noise-isolating to block unwanted sound.
A comparison of these earbuds and other great accessories are in the 2011 Best Gear article.
